Revelation 1:17-18 On Easter Sunday we celebrate the real Jesus; the Jesus who died in our place, rose victorious, and is alive forevermore. This Jesus is more powerful than we assume, more loving than we can imagine, and more trustworthy than we dare hope.

Revelation 1:17-18 The risen Christ must be embraced as the loving, eternal God who died to save us and then came to life to defeat death and give us eternal life. To do this, we need to see Him for who He really is, we need to experience the powerful touch of His mighty right hand, and we must hear & believe His words to us.

Revelation 1:5b-6 The cross – that place where Jesus died, is a powerful sign that God loves us, that He has freed us from our sins by Jesus’ blood, and that He has secured our future for all of eternity. The cross is God’s grace to us, resulting in peace for every person who believes what Christ did.

Revelation 1:5b-6 Good Friday is a reminder of just how much it cost to forgive our sins.  When we realize that our sins cost Jesus his very life, we are humbled to see not only God’s justice, but his incredible love for us.  At the cross we see the reminder of his love in freeing us from our sins and making us his own.

Revelation 22:6-21 As the book of Revelation draws to a close the reader is given a final set of three exhortations intended to spur them on towards faithfulness. Three sets counsel to bolster faithfulness, ground them in Christ, and encourage them on mission.

Revelation 22:6-21 As Christ followers in our society we can face difficult challenges as we seek to remain faithful to God and live life His way.  Sometimes it seems that things are falling apart and we can't go on.  John's final words in Revelation are written to give us the assurance we need that God is indeed in control...and in the end Jesus wins!

Revelation 22:1-5 Have you ever witnessed an incredible restoration? Whether it was a rusty old junker being restored or a fragmented marriage finding healing, watching beauty arise from brokenness is an incredible thing. In this passage, John describes heaven as a better restoration of the garden of Eden. In so doing he gives Christ followers a glorious future to look forward to.

Revelation 22:1-5 A “forever home” is that “perfect” home one wants to settle into and never leave. This home is described in the book of Revelation ... our heavenly home – a place that has been refurbished & renovated by God where death, destruction, and darkness do not exist. Truly perfect. Knowing the Who, What, Where, When, Why and How of what the future holds for a Christian should provide confidence to engage life with an eternal perspective.

Revelation 21:9-26 As John unravels more of the picture of heaven we are shown a heavenly city coming down to earth.  One where God will dwell with his people forever in unimaginable beauty.  We are shown this picture not simply so that we will know what it will be like, but that we could begin to reflect God’s design and purpose now. 

The Apostle John wrote these words to provide hope to Christians who were facing incredible hardships. And it worked. In fact, the more Christians suffered with poise and peace (because of their future hope) the more the Christian movement grew. These same words continue to provide incredible context and hope for Christians today.

Revelation 21:1-8 The kingdom of God is both a present reality and a future anticipation. In Revelation, Jesus gives us glimpses of what this future will be like ... a joyful anticipation that we can incorporate into our lives now which will help us live with hope and purpose.

Revelation 21:1-8 You don’t need to look far to see the destruction and heartache that sin has caused. Our world is plagued by sin, but in our passage this morning we are given a beautiful picture of the future that is to come. God promises that He will make all things new. There will be no more pain and suffering and every tear shall be wiped away.

Revelation 21:1-8 The picture of heaven that we are given is at the same time one of the most confusing and one of the most beautiful.  We are left with plenty of questions about how exactly it is going to work out, yet we are also shown incredible beauty in what is to come.  God shows us this picture to enliven our desires to be with Him. 

The idea of a final judgment leading to eternal life in the presence of God or eternal death outside the goodness of God is not only unpopular today but a God who judges good and evil is deemed Himself unjust. Revelation 20:7-15 Revelation 20:7-15 narrates Satan’s final defeat and abandonment to the lake of fire, followed by the great day of judgment. On that day Jesus will judge the living and the dead in truth, righteousness and justice. Those whose names are found in the Lamb’s book of life will join God in glory for eternity.
