When we are rooted in eternity, we have access to an eternal source of love. Our motivation is cleansed by our love for God first. Don’t live your life in a prison of unmet expectations. How do we live in this world? When difficulty and trial hit, how do we choose to respond? God tells us to choose His path, his way and his heart. We follow Jesus' example to choose God first. These choices define us and bring peace from knowing where our identity and our future lies.

God promises us his comfort, not by removing stress and trial, but by being with us through the trial. God's comfort reaches us at our lowest point elevates our spirit to God's place of hope and rest.

God allows suffering and even persecution to test our faith. Why? So that we can prove our worth to a world that is watching. A life that stands firm in the midst of trial.

God loves it when his people pray together. The Bible says that he is especially in our midst when we are praying in a spirit of unity and truth. The voices we listen to should be the ones that God especially loves to use for his glory - our brothers and sisters in Christ.

For the last four months our lives have been greatly influenced by COVID-19 and the precautions taken in our province and around Canada to deal with it. In one way or another it has created more stress in our lives and in many ways has led to confusion and anxiety. Learning to hear the voice of God through the regular reading of and meditation upon the Bible is one of the key ways that God speaks to his people. The regular discipline of being in the Word is essential to a powerful and dynamic prayer life.

Prayer takes a great deal of effort. Praying and fasting for great needs. Praying for those who are our enemies. Praying for the unrepentant. Prayer that confesses deep sin. All this work is worth it. however, because knowing God through prayer is a prize that touches the eternal soul and brings us into the arms of the Lord.

What is your heart's posture during prayer? The attitude we come to the throne of grace with determines prayer's effectiveness and our joy level of joy. Adopting the posture of humility, awe and gratitude is the key to opening the gateway of heaven.

The command to "never stop praying" (I Thessalonians 5:17) should be seen as a cause for celebration. Why? Because God initiates a relationship with is, inviting us to come to him and deepen our spiritual walk with Him.

What keeps our marriages sane during challenging times? Holding on to the path of joy and hope. God gives us the promise of his peace in the mayhem of life.

What voices do we listen to? Do we listen to God or do we listen to the voices of others? The miracle of prayer is that God hears our voice and that we can hear him. How? through Jesus Christ. Let’s pursue prayer as a vital element of our spiritual life with God.

The road to maturity in Christ is long but worthwhile. We must be properly grounded in God’s word, willing to suffer patiently for the gospel, and be consistent in our witness over the years. Priscilla was a great example of all of these traits. A woman who was an eyewitness to God’s truth.

God is a god of second chances! When we humble ourselves and turn to God, we refuse to let our failures define us. God loves to work beauty out of our brokenness when we trust in his grace.

Are you willing to pursue God? To make his story your own? Choose to receive God’s grace and follow the path of knowing Christ where hope and joy live.

Luke wrote the largest part of the New Testament. His accounts of the life of Jesus and the early church are full of many examples of the power of God being experienced in the lives of thousands of people. God's power is very present and real. As much today as it was during Luke's time. Let's open our eyes to see the working of God today.
