A life submitted to God and his word doesn’t always lead to safety, but it does bring delight.

To delight in the word of God is to receive a divine education.

Spending time in God's word brings change. To delight in the word of God, is to be changed by it.

God's word is provided to us so we can know Him and be with him.

How do we, as a church, grow in our purity of heart before God? By seeking God in His Word and speaking God's words.

The Word of God is not to be trifled with. It cannot be ignored, brushed off, or summarily dismissed. It holds sway over our lives whether we want it to or not. So, it would behoove us to listen.

Our feelings often lie. Isaiah interrupts our fearful stream of questions and shows us we do not need to be shackled to fear anymore. He does not say—there is nothing to be afraid of. There is. There always is. He is going to show us that while there are many good reasons TO be afraid, there is one reason NOT to: God is yours, and you are his.

Your life, my life all of our lives tell stories of devotion. But to what? To whom? What does the story of your life say you are most devoted to?
