This Sunday we celebrate our Fathers and are so thankful for all you do. Join us as we wrap up our "Rooted" series with a message called "Wide in Christ".

Among the various relationships we have on this earth, there are several special ones discussed by Paul at the end of Colossians 3. Wives, husbands, children, parents, servants and masters. This week we will discuss the Biblical model of these relationships for those who have been raised with Christ, exploring topics like submission, love, obedience, and provocation. We will also look at a landmar...

Our Christian identity means we should look, talk, think, and act differently. It’s all about what we choose to wear — and that has nothing to do with designer brands or fabric blends. Paul instructs the Colossians — and by extension, us — to put on the clothes of: compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Take a moment to look and pray over that list. Does it describe you? As a pa...

This is going to be a great Sunday! Paul moves from the problem of false teaching to an if/then solution. He says IF you are a christian THEN... If you are a Christian, then you can set your sights outside of this world. If You are a Christian, then you can trust in Christ who sits at God's right hand. If you are a Christian, then you can set your mind on the reality of heaven. If you are a C...

Have you ever wondered why you were born? Or wondered why God made you? Well if you have, you are not alone. Many of us if we are honest have had these questions and I am excited to let you in on the secret mystery of these questions! We were born for a reason, but to understand that reason we have to go back and learn about how we got here in the first place! The how, and why is found in and thro...

This Sunday is a very special day; it’s Mother’s Day and we are privileged to celebrate all the CCW moms that help make our church so special. The influence of a mother upon the lives of her children can hardly be measured. They know and absorb her example in countless ways. If you’re reading this, no doubt you have been impacted by a mother! We will be looking this Mother’s Day at the story of Es...

Have you ever been one ingredient off on cooking something? Do you remember how that affected the taste, flavor, and appearance? You can have most of the ingredients, but missing one changes everything. Paul said in Colossians 2:8, "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit." The heresy invading the Colossian church was persuasive, philosophical, and had a place fo...

I love the feeling of checking a box on the list, accomplishing a task, and finishing an assignment. Those things are called work! It takes work to get ROOTED! Paul says in Colossians 1:24, "I now rejoice in my sufferings for you," and in vs. 29, "to this end, I also labor (work), striving according to His working which works in me mightily." If anyone could say anything about...

We are kicking off our new series called “Rooted” on the book of Colossians. A book written to the church by Paul to define the supremacy of Christ! Christ is more than enough to fulfill their every need. His letter is a warning to the because of false teachers that were trying to infiltrate with fake messages. The theme of this series is found in Colossians 2:6-7, "so walk in Him, rooted and...

In history, what happened after the resurrection of Jesus Christ? Jesus appeared to the disciples and spent 40 additional days of preparation, and then - poof - he was gone, ascended to Heaven. They watched Jesus's compelling flight, were left gazing into the Heavens over their complexing future, and given an imperative challenge of faith. Acts 1:8, "And ye shall be witnesses of me...to...

This Sunday, Christians will gather across the globe in churches to celebrate the most important day in all of history - Resurrection Day. Paul, in a sequence of "if/thens," explains: if there is no resurrection, then Christ is not risen; if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty; if Christ is not risen, our faith is empty; if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; and if C...

Palm Sunday. The beginning of the most important week in the history of humanity. Over 25% of the information in the gospels is devoted to the eight days from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. So many stories and events, so many characters and principles. The Bible seems to scream at us…. “Hey, this is important!” This week we are going to explore “The Garden Incident” in Matthew 26 and look at the la...

This week is the grand finale of our Forward series, and it’s a beautiful closing statement on Joshua’s service as well as a charge to us all. Joshua 24:15 says, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” It’s unique when you think about how Deuteronomy closes and then how Joshua completes. They both end with a choice. Life and death, blessing and curse in Deuteronomy. Here, serve all these...

This week is the grand finale of our Forward series, and it’s a beautiful closing statement on Joshua’s service as well as a charge to us all. Have you ever heard someone say, "I felt the prayer?" In Joshua 10, we see a looming battle and as the Israelites gain the upper hand and we see an amazing prayer. Joshua 10:14 says, “There has been no day like it before or since when the Lord hee...

“I should’ve seen that coming.” Everyone hates that feeling. No one likes to be deceived. Join us this Sunday as we continue through our Joshua series with the message titled “the lie of self-sufficiency.” Joshua and the Israelites have experienced a lot of victories provided from the Lord's hand, but in Joshua chapter 9 we see what happens when they take decision making into their own hands...

Have you ever heard the statement right after a big victory is a dangerous time? Last week we saw the Israelites making a major breakthrough, marching as God commanded, and the walls of Jericho came crashing down. This week we see in Joshua 7 Israel suffer an immediate defeat at the hands of one man’s greed and covetousness.

Breakthrough: a sudden, dramatic, and important development. What does it take to break through ancient walls and obtain God's promise? We can feel that Israel is right on the brink, the precipice - an over 700 year old promise dating all the way back to Abraham is brimming and about to bring a revolution! There's just one thing left: complete submission to the supremacy of God and His c...

God has been mighty at work in our services and outreach. What a great time it has been to see God at work! Have you ever had a person in your life who made everything better when they showed up? In our sermon series, FORWARD, there are just a few things left to complete for Israel to cross over into the Promised Land. As they are preparing in Joshua 5:13 "a man stood with his sword drawn&quo...

This Sunday is going to be unforgettable. We are honored to have the Landreth family share a special testimony of how God has miraculously worked in Eli's story. It is God's sovereign timing because in our FORWARD study this week, God tells Joshua to have the Israelites build a memorial of stones to celebrate the crossing of the Jordan River. Why? In cases like these we can forget to asc...

For 40 long years Israel had been wandering in the wilderness. Finally, we get to the point where Joshua is going to lead the Israelites into Canaan and it’s easy street, right? Wrong. Immediately, they are met with an insurmountable obstacle: it’s fall and the Jordan River's banks have swelled. When you Burn the Boats and begin to move FORWARD, expect adversity. Satan doesn't want the c...

This week we are peering into Joshua 2. Often while working on the needs of many, God will divert His attention to one. Luke 15:4 says, "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?" Rahab was one of the ones. We are introduced to Rahab the harlot in Joshua 2, and...

Do you have a unique recipe maybe one that shows up at holiday's or very special events? There are 1,189 chapters with over 783,000 words in the Bible and God shares for the one and only time the word success and the recipe for obtaining it. In Joshua 1:8- "This Book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate day and night, that you may observe to do according to...

Joshua is one of the greatest characters in all of the BIble. He was Moses' protege and chosen to lead God's people courageously into the promised land. There is a great hymn with these lines "Onward Christian Soldiers Marching as to war with the cross of Jesus going on before" and the theme running through the pages of Joshua is moving Forward. Forty years the children of Isra...

Proverbs 29:18 says, "Where there is no vision the people perish." This Sunday, Pastor Rick will be bringing a vision message that is a 2023 rally cry entitled, "Burn The Boats." In Numbers 13 and 14, we study the story of Israel on the brink of going into the Promised Land with only one thing that could hold them back, and that one thing was Israel. In 2023, we want to challen...

It's 2023 and it's time to step "Forward" into Uncharted territory. To Paraphrase Joshua 3:3-4-God told the Israelites when they see the ark of the covenant (which represents the presence of God) you should follow after it, that you may know which way to go for it is a new way that you have not gone before. God wants to take us to deeper places with more of Him. Join us in pray...
