After we encounter Jesus in the Gospels, we are left asking, "What's next?" Many of us misunderstand and misuse the Bible as we try to live out the principles it contains.

The New Testament opens with four biographies of Jesus which challenged the social, political and religious powers of his day and still offer good news to us now.

With 39 books and filled with ancient historical events alongside wisdom, poetry, prophetic messages, the Old Testament can seem daunting. Woven through it all is the revelation of God’s character and nature through His interaction with humanity. It addition to all of that, the Old Testament ultimately point to Jesus.

The Bible has been described as many things: holy, best-seller, religious text, instruction manual, myth, love letter, scripture and a religious library to name a few. It is made up of 66 books across several genres, divided into two major sections and originally written in three languages. All throughout the Bible, God's people are describes as sheep. This image carries a lot of significance. As God's sheep, we must be lead by Jesus, the Great Shepherd.

Hebrews 11 reminds us of those who have gone before us, leaving a legacy of faith. We all need encouragement to hold fast and continue in faith.

As we wrap up 2019 and look forward to a new year, we are asking you to consider what it looks like to engage with God and the work God is already doing. We believe God is calling us to engage on our campus, in our city and around the world.

Jesus completely changed the way relate to God, changing the terms of the agreement between us and God. As a result, we have something worth holding onto.

As we continue studying through the book of Hebrews we see that Jesus completely changed the way we interact with God. Before we were kept at a distance, dependent on a system of priests to offer sacrifices over and over. Jesus is able to go directly to the Father on our behalf.

It seems absurd to have hope, especially in the face of difficulties and disappointments, but when we truly experience Jesus, not only can we have hope, but a hope that won't disappoint us.

Most High Priest were cut off and separated from the people. Jesus is a completely sympathetic High Priest, because Jesus completely understands our weakness. We finished this sermon by taking the Lord's Supper, breaking bread to remind us of Jesus body broken for us.

We all want to be in control, but following Jesus requires us to trust him to lead our lives. This sermon is part of a series on the book of Hebrews.

Some people excel at speaking with grace. Others are great at telling the truth. It is rare to find someone who has the willingness and ability to offer both immense grace and dependable truth. Living in No Man's Land requires us to speak and live out grace and truth.

It happens over and over again--at the first sign of conflict, we flee to a bunker with people who think like us and attack everyone else. We think these bunkers of like-minded people will provide us safety and security, but they actually lead to death. God is calling people to step out of their bunkers and engage with truth and grace.

We all have a life story. It is where God's story and our story collide that things get interesting. God is able to bring light into our stories of shame.

God created us to be givers as we were created in God's image. We are at our best and fullest when we are giving.

It is paramount that you not only create spiritual habits for yourself, but that you also create spiritual habits for and with your family.

Church is not simply a place that you go; it's a family of which you become a part.
