When life feels hard and you’ve been praying for things to get easier, it’s easy to wonder if something’s gone wrong. But someone recently reminded me that giving your heart to Jesus doesn’t save you from trouble – it saves you from sin. 

When Trevor was just 9 years old, he got a diagnosis no child should ever hear - a brain tumor. What followed were nearly two years of weekly chemo treatments at Children’s Health. But this past September, he rang the bell to mark the end of treatment! Now, at 11, Trevor has something new to celebrate.

Right after Easter, one of the first things Jesus did was show up for someone who didn’t believe.

When baby Millie was born with a rare brain disorder, doctors told her parents, Meg and Bill, she wouldn’t survive. So they brought her home on hospice and prayed for a miracle. And God answered.

I don’t usually forget to eat. I’ve got meals pretty much planned into my day – breakfast, lunch, dinner. And if I miss one? I feel it. I get hungry… or hangry, depending on who you ask. But I started thinking about this during Easter week, reflecting on the Last Supper and Jesus sharing a final meal with His disciples. It made me realize something.

Watching someone you love battle a long illness is so hard. And saying goodbye is even harder. 

As we get closer to Easter, I’ve been thinking about something I hadn’t noticed before: where Jesus was positioned on the cross. Think about it: He was suspended between heaven and earth. Between a holy God and the people mocking, beating, and crucifying Him. And from that place, He didn’t call down judgment. He said, “Father, forgive them.”

I didn’t mean to end up in someone else’s FaceTime call... but here we are. 

“Not my will, but Your will be done.” We’ve all heard that phrase, but the context really hit me recently. These weren’t words Jesus said while preaching to a big crowd. He said them alone, in the garden, just before being betrayed, arrested, and crucified. It wasn’t a moment of strength - it was a moment of surrender.

Egg prices are still high enough that someone actually tried using them to sell a house. Seriously. A realtor in Tennessee put up a sign that said: “Free eggs with purchase!” right there in the yard. The house is $595,000, but hey – at least it comes with breakfast?

If you’ve ever felt like Jesus wouldn’t invite you to His table because of your past – you’re not alone. I’ve felt that too. But then I look at the Last Supper. Jesus sat at the table with His closest friends: the ones who had seen miracles, walked with Him, learned from Him. And right there beside them… was Judas. The one who would betray Him. Jesus knew... and He still gave him a seat.

When I read that God “weighs the heart” (Proverbs 21:2), it made me wonder – what if He actually placed my thoughts and desires on a scale? Would it lean toward Him or toward me?

Pockets. They seem so basic, right? But if you're a woman, you know the struggle is real. We get pants with fake pockets. Tiny pockets. Or no pockets at all. So shoutout to Georgia, a little girl in the UK who had enough. 

When Jesus was crucified, He wasn’t alone. Two criminals were hanging on crosses beside Him – both guilty, both suffering – but only one responded in faith.

One woman was cleaning out her birdhouse for the spring and found something surprising under all the twigs and feathers: a $5 bill. So apparently, some birds pay rent!

I heard an analogy from a pastor recently that really stuck with me. He said sometimes we’re like a dog playing fetch – we chase after what the Master throws, full of energy and trust. But when it’s time to go again, we don’t let go of the ball. We clamp down, hang on tight, and then wonder why God’s not moving.

16-year-old Tyler was home for spring break, relaxing and watching TV, when he heard screaming outside. He looked out the window and saw his neighbor’s house across the street on fire.

When things go wrong, I know exactly what to do — I pray. I lean into God, asking for His help, His peace, His rescue. But when things are going right?

If your house isn’t exactly spotless right now, good news – turns out a little mess might actually be good for you! 

When my son was little and learning to ride a bike, his biggest question was, “But what if I fall?” So I’d run alongside him and say, “I’ve got my hand on the seat. I won’t let you go.”And you could see the shift in his face. My promise gave him the confidence to try. That same image came to mind recently when I read Isaiah 41:10.
