The Canes played their game to perfection. The rookie got his first NHL goal. And the Canes beat the Devils for their first win of the season. 

Canes conceded two power play goals to Tampa Bay and dropped the season opening game for the first time in 6 years. 

Yes, Eric Robinson had 2 goals and an assist and Freddie Andersen made 29 saves in just two periods.  But, with the preseason over, it's time to look ahead to the roster decisions and other matters facing the Canes as we head towards the start of the regular season on Friday.

Canes President and General Manager Don Waddell resigned his position on Friday.  The team named Eric Tulsky as the interim General Manager.  The move by Waddell comes at a difficult time for the Hurricanes with 11 free agents and other decisions that need to be made before the draft which is one month away.  Adam is joined by The Athletic's Cory Lavalette to discuss.
