King David let his guard down and allowed the giant of lust to defeat him twice over. Beware of the Tempter and guard yourself so that he does not defeat you.

David experienced God's grace as he became king and he extended that grace to Saul's descendant. Experience God's generous grace, live by grace, and extend grace to others generously.

David arrived at the throne because the God who called him led him through the preparation journey. The Shepherd-King leads us in the journey of calling, challenge, and completion as we become servant leaders.

God is faithful to those he calls, even in their foolishness. To have a relationship with God through his Son, Jesus Christ, is the best and wisest decision anyone can make.

Children of God do not act vengefully but trustingly, doing the right thing in the right way. When others do you wrong, trust God and act with integrity rather than with vengeance.

David, after making a real effort to serve the king he decides he needs to flee. King Saul grew jealous of David and David escapes the attempt on his life.

We like to have control of our lives, but there are plenty of times in life where we don't have control and we have to lean on someone or something. Today we are talking about learning to lean on Jesus. It's a learned behavior.

We talk about leading in work, in school, and in ministry. What does greatness look like? Let's look at the character contrast between Saul and David. How is greatness present in our lives?

The tomb is empty, but the empty tomb is the only evidence of his resurrection. The people he interacted with were never the same. The resurrected Jesus appeared to his disciples. Have you encountered the Risen Lord? Have you met the resurrected Jesus?

We look at the life of Paul and see how he impacted such a large area. He used multiplication strategies as he traveled. We want to get back to the roots of Christianity and copy how the Gospel was spread in early years. We don't want to stay stuck in a superficial Christianity, we want challenge you to be a disciplemaker. Disciples made to the fourth generation.

We are called to live as sent ones. Gospel is a noun and a verb. "We Gospel". We want to be a catalyst that will result in 65,000 new disciples by the year 2020. It's a crazy vision, but we believe that if God wants to do it, He will do it.

We've talked about up and in, now we are talking about out or the Great Commandment. "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded..." The Bible says "Go". That's now the Great Commission starts. It doesn't say "come to church". It doesn't say "bring your friends to church". It says...

We are God's people and He has called us to be The Church. The Church is not a building. The Church is the people. The first century church met in homes. That's where it started. The Church didn't have a building. The Church was illegal. And The Church flourished in those conditions. Church buildings are a blessing. But the important part is the people.

Becoming a full disciplemaker has many aspects. We meet together, talk together, and interact together in community. We gather in order to be steadfast in the faith, in order to be Christ-like disciples. We gather to grow. We gather to challenge in character and competency. We gather to encourage toward the end.

Belonging to a community of disciples is about obedience. It is essential to the health of a disciplemaker. In belonging we are able to experience fellowship. Fellowship means that we love one another and we help one another along the journey of following Jesus

A call to be a disciple is also a call to be a disciplemaker. The question is, "Am I following Jesus well?". A disciple is someone who is learning to be like Jesus and someone who is learning to do like Jesus would do. It's about being and doing. It's about character and competency. It's about faithfulness and fruitfulness.
