If you were to ask people for the true meaning of Christmas-the reason Jesus came to earth-the answers would vary greatly. So why not ask Jesus Himself. We often look to Luke 1-2 and Matthew 1-2 for the traditional Christmas story. But to get Jesus' perspective on why He came, we turn today to a passage we don't often associate with Christmas in the book of Hebrews.

Humanly speaking, the birth of Jesus was humble, lowly, and ordinary. Today through the testimony of Isaiah, written hundreds of years before the birth of Jesus, we will realize it was nothing short of Glorious.

Romans chapter 16, its last, looks and feels different from what came before. Any connection? Absolutely! Having explained the features of The Gospel (1-15), the Apostle Paul now introduces us to the people of The Gospel by gathering a couple of 1st century "photos" from The Gospel Family Album. Paul has made some bold challenges and reminders throughout the letter. Today, Paul begins to draw his letter to a close with some personal challenges of how to live in response to the gospel.

Today we continue our journey through Romans. Paul begins his explanation of the Gospel by making sure we all understand our need for God's righteousness because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
