We all need people who are used to counsel us in life but we also needs hearts that can receive the counsel. When someone is in a place of total pride, they won't heed any input or correction and they find themselves in one of the most dangerous places in life.

The Lord is never shocked by your struggles or lack of faith. He knew you completely, and still called you His own despite your failings. The enemy always overestimates your failures but he also underestimates the grace given to you by God!

In today's study we see the importance of allowing God to work and resting in His plan vs. manipulation, lies and trying to make something happen when God says otherwise.

The enemy is trying to remove your sword (God's Word) just as the enemy was trying to remove the weapons of God's people in our text today. This is to keep them under the subjection of their rule and the enemy is trying to do this to us, by keeping us out of God's Word!
