God thought of everything we He created us, and He also knows we sinners need a Saviour. Jesus, the consolation and glory of Israel, has been sent to seek and save sinners who look for redemption. Let us look to Jesus in faith, thank God, and tell others about Him.

We each have a race set before us, but there can be obstacles in the way that must be removed which prohibit us from living a life pleasing to the Lord. Let's "put on" endurance, accept discipline, and keep our eyes set on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Are you thirsty for Good News? For all eternity there will be no better news than Jesus Christ coming to earth to seek and save sinners. Unto us is born a Saviour who is Christ the LORD! Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.

By His grace God has chosen to partner with people to accomplish His glorious plans. Zacharias, Elizabeth, John, and Mary were all filled with the Holy Spirit and praise unto God for His faithfulness. In a world of darkness and death the Light of the world would shine in an unexpected Way.

The Gospel of Luke begins with the angel Gabriel revealing God's plans to Zacharias and Mary, both who were troubled at the unexpected revelation of God. This passage is a great reminder that God answers prayers and with God nothing will be impossible. When we are troubled are we willing to trust God and rejoice in His Word?

God would use the Assyrians to cut down, thresh, and sift His people like a farmer does grain. This was done not to destroy His people but so they could be restored to fellowship with Him. God preserved a faithful remnant which has continued to produce fruit that remains to this day and forever by His grace.

Amos spoke the word of God to people who were hardened against it, and God still speaks to all through His Word today. God's people had rejected His covenant, but even in the face of judgement the light of hope believers have in Jesus shines. Those who receive God's Word with faith will be led in His good Way.

Through the prophet Amos God pronounced woe upon Israel and also showed him several visions of the future. His grief for the nation moved Amos to pray and God graciously relented. Because of our good and sovereign God one person who prays makes all the difference.

Through Amos God roared against Judah and Israel, and due to their close relationship with God they had much to answer for. Their sin was the reason judgement was coming, but God's grace and goodness meant repentance also would bring healing and restoration. Even great suffering for sin is not without God's providence.

God roared from Jerusalem against the sins of the nations through Amos the prophet, a humble breeder of sheep. God would send a fire to devour the nations who had sinned against Him and victimised His people, and when we trust Him evil can be overcome with good.

Like the message of Hosea to the northern tribes, Zephaniah message 100 years later to the southern tribes of Judah are similar. History is repeating itself. It always seems to but God doesn’t give up. The Lord’s heart is to warn, protect and save us. Although judgement comes because of sin, God provides deliverance. He always wants us, He proves it over again and again.

The conclusion of Hosea is unexpectedly full of hope, comfort, and refreshment considering the promised judgement of the northern kingdom of Israel for their sin. Israel could never earn the right to return to God through sacrifice, yet He invited all to return by His grace. Their basis of repentance was not their commitment but in agreement with the covenant they had made together.

Israel had sin-destructed, but in God was their refuge. Many blamed God for their problems, but they alone were responsible because they chose to depart from Him. For individuals and nations alike God provides our only help and salvation.

God called Israel and drew them out of bondage in Egypt with love but they were bent on backsliding from Him. Using Jacob's life and experience with God as an illustration, the scripture teaches us prevailing with God does not come by fighting against Him but surrendering to Him.

Sowing wickedness caused Israel to produce iniquity, and God would chasten them for their sin. A season of ploughing would provide opportunity to sow righteousness by seeking the LORD. Though seasons change, it is always fitting to break up our fallow ground and seek God.

Because the northern kingdom departed from the LORD in seeking prosperity, God would bring poverty upon them. Despite their many sacrifices, their sin before God was as notoriously wicked as the days of Gibeah, the sin of Ba'al Peor, and multiplied in Gilgal. In His grace and faithfulness God provided a Way of escape in Himself for them and all today who repent and trust Him.
