As we continue to look into what's happening in Heaven, John sees a scroll in the hand of god, who is on the throne. He weeps because it seems that there is no one worthy to open the scroll until Jesus, the Lamb that was slain, comes forward and takes the scroll. He is worthy. As we take a look at Chapters 2-3 of Revelation, we hear what Jesus says to seven churches, but we also see an interesting parallel to Church history. Listen in to part 1 of the fascinating overview of The Church Throughout History.

In this last letter to the seven churches, Jesus addresses the church "of the Laodiceans". In His letter, he calls them out, telling them they think they need nothing, that they are all good, but Jesus rebukes them and tells them to repent. They are not hot or cold, but lukewarm and Jesus warns that this is worst condition one can be in spirtitually.

In this sixth letter to a church, Jesus addresses the church in Philadelphia. He has only good things to say about this church and in our study, we will see four marks of a powerful church.

April Fool's Day and Easter fell on the same day this year. Many people love to play practical jokes on family and friends on this day but it was no joke that the Resurrection happened! It is certainty and our salvation depends on it being true!

This is the longest letter to one of the 7 churches and Jesus has some very serious things to say to this church at Thyatira. They were doing doing some good things but they had strayed from God's Word and become very permissive to non-biblical things. If we are not careful, we can easily slip into this. It's why we need to learn to discern the truth.

In this 3rd letter to a church in Revelation, we see Jesus address the church at Pergamos. He addresses the fact that they are quite tolerant of false doctrine. He tells them to repent. What areas of our own lives are we tolerating compromise?

In Revelation chapters 2-3, Jesus inspects 7 churches and gives report cards to each of them. In this study, we look at the church at Ephesus and we see what Jesus says to "A Church Preoccupied". He has lots of good to say but he indicts them with "You have left your first love..."
