David refuses to give in to fear and he responds by faith… Quick thought here: even when your heart is right, be very careful of giving advice to others.  My personal practice is to stop talking at all when someone tells me God told them to do this or that.  Unless what they say contradicts God’s Word, I say nothing more.  Never tell someone to do what they believe God has told them not to…

The benefit of the law, according to Paul, is that it does two things:  1st, it reveals the perfect holiness of God.  It lets us know the standard of righteousness that God’s righteousness requires. In short, it lets us know we can never achieve that standard… 2nd, the real purpose of the law is to show us just how short we fall.

David's prayer ---- he asks simply to be heard by God.  He is acknowledging that God is the only source to whom he can turn to for help.  This is something we need to learn individually as we too often tell other people what we need—people who have no ability to help… God alone has the answers for whatever it is you are dealing with.
