Calling All Creatures

We'll be discussing BSL, how it got started, how it affects society, myths and facts.

We'll be talking with 2 horse rescues to find out why they rescue horses, how they got started, some of the programs they offer, and how you can work with them. Also some basic info on what it takes to own a horse.

Talking about rattlesnakes, their venom, how to keep your dog from being bitten and the treatment you will have to get if they do get bitten.

We will be discussing some new bills the HSUS is trying to get passed having to do with puppy mills, dog and cock fighting paraphanelia, and declawing of cats, along with hoarding, oversight of shelters/rescues, and why animals don't have court advocates for cruelty cases.

Discussing different avenues of dog training and how it's changed over the years, what positive reinforcement is and how it works, a couple different forms of dog reactivity/aggression and how trainers can help with these issues, and the difference between service, therapy, and emotional support dogs.

We'll be discussing reptiles and the rescues that take them in. We'll also be talking about their care and maintenance, some things you should know if you're thinking about getting a reptile pet, and the different types of reptiles both exoctic and native to AZ.

We are going to talk about pot bellied pigs and the rescues that help them out. The ins and outs of taking care of them and some helpful tips if you have one.

We will be discussing exotic bird rescue with Janet Trumbule, Oasis Bird Sanctuary and Carol Klamerus, Tucson Parrot Rescue. We will talk about the trials and tribulations that go along with it, why they rescue these birds and how they got started, and some of the diseases they can get.

We will be talking with Roo about Wallace the Pitbull that was a national frisbee champion, Hector one of the Vicktory Dogs he adopted, and his time on American Ninja Warrior competing as the K-9 Ninja.

Tonight we'll be speaking with Adam and Mary Goldberg, A GoldPhoto Pet Photography and Candice Eaton, C Eaton Photography. They are going to give us information about how photography helps save animals in animal shelters, tips on equipment, how they got started doing this and some of the services they offer at their studios, and some of the organizations they have helped out.

We will be talking about cat rescue with Joanna Fitzgerald, Pima Animal Care and Control Foster, and Meribeth Persson, Hermitage Cat Shelter Foster. We will talk about why people rescue cats and how rewarding it is. Some of the trials and tribulations they go through and some of the diseases that can affect cats.

We will be discussing dog fostering with Liana Moss, Pima Animal Care and Control foster, Aubrey Violeta Gelpieryn, Pima Animal Care and Control foster, and Yocasta Moreno, Smiling Dog Rescue foster. We will discuss why people get started in it, what it entails, diseases that dogs can get, and the trials and tribulations of being a foster.

We will be talking with Marcos Quinones, Retired NYPD Detective and Richard "Kudo" Couto, founder of Animal Recovery Mission. We will be discussing different types of animal sacrifice, why people practice these ceremonies, the groups that do it, and some of the meanings behind it.

We will be talking with Charles Peden, Pet Psychic, Ann Marie Hoff, Pet Communicator, and Linda Johns, Healer/Psychic Intuitive. We will discuss how to communicate with our pets, how they came to find out about their abilities, how we are also able to do this and some tips to help us communicate, and how they have been able to help people with their grief or to find a lost pet.

We will be discuss rabies with Heather VenKat, DVM and T. Michael Fink, MA. How to recognize the signs in animals, how to protect against it, and the protocol to be followed in cases of rabies exposure.

We'll be talking with John Gilbert, Founder of Tucson Rescue Now. We would like to introduce his new rescue organization, what he's going to be doing and how, and the fundraiser they are having.

We will be talking with Cheryl Christensen, Desert Cat Rescue and Jeanmarie Schiller-McGinnis, Hearts That Purr. We'll be discussing cat rescue, what it's like to rescue these little purry beings, how they got into rescue, the trials and tribulations, and what's involved in cat rescue.

We'll be talking with Ann Herrington, Publisher/Editor, Bella Wexler, Intern/Writer, and Bonnie Craig, Writer. We will be discussing The Tucson Dog Magazine, how it got its start, what it's like to write for them, how they got started writing for the magazine, and some of the articles and information you can find in the magazine.

We will be discussing animal cruelty with Sara Dent, Attorney at Law, Kellye Pinkleton, Humane Society of the United States, Michelle Kleckner, HSSA Cruelty Investigations Assistant, and Detective Michael Duffey, HSSA Animal Cruelty Taskforce. We will talk about the laws dealing with it, how to report it, and some of the different forms that it takes.

We are going to be talking with Det. Michael Duffey, Humane Society of Southern Arizona/Animal Cruelty Taskforce, Theresa Warrell, Horse'n Around Rescue, and Cindy Butereiez, HEART of Tucson Rescue. Tonight we'll talk with Nikki Reck, Pima Animal Care and Control, Haley Clauges, RAD Rescue, and Nadine Sipos Swart, Animal Advocate/Rescuer. We'll be discussing how animal shelters work with their local rescues in getting animals out of the shelter so they don't get euthanized. We'll find out how these people all come together to make good things happen and how you can help out.
