Byte Sized Blessings

Junko lives to light people up...by encouraging them to mine not only their brilliance, but also their shadows! She grew up surrounded by Shintoism as well as Buddhism, and it's clear that both have left their mark on her. From a young age she was deeply immersed in the Japanese worldview of Shinto, and the spirits that came with it. Sensitive to the world around her, Junko soon understood that th...

This week it's all about the messages we get-whether from friends, from a strange green bottle in the ocean, OR? like my guest this week, in her dreams as well as in her ear! It is truly magical thinking about the lengths the Universe will go to to make sure that we are safe, and on our path! And Julia's story fits right in with this idea-that the Energy which surrounds us, the Spirit that moves u...

It's all about the superpower, baby!  Right now you're totally wondering what superpower? Well, the superpower that's led Lisa to have multiple experiences that can't be explained. Lisa's superpower allows her to navigate this world with a bit more clarity, and a bit...

Siena loves history, loves old buildings and has reverence for the past. BUT it was her experience at a seance in a basement, one that had ties to the Underground Railroad, that she talks about in this episode. Her tale is a spooky one and reminds me that boundaries are good, especially when it comes to those who are already dead. I don't want to give any spoilers, but let's just say that sometime...

HAPPY HALLOWEEN YOU ALL!! I'd like you to meet my guest for this Halloween Special, Stephen Rutledge! Stephen seems to have a special relationship with those things that go bump in the night...or send a chill up your spine. His three tales are all very different, but all especially spooky! My favorite tale of his involves hundreds of other witnesses...and a bottle of champagne... Stephen's life se...

Welcome to another spooky tale, my dear listeners! This week is all about New Orleans, and how truly haunted those houses are, down South! Holly and her husband weren't too concerned when her daughter suddenly had a best friend named Sam, except Sam didn't exist...or did he? When strange things started happening in the house, and Sam became more and more real as their daughter grew older, they rea...

From the creepy and unexpected hotel manager, to what happene...

Our October Spooktacular continues dear listeners! My guest this week has been on before, and it's no surprise (at least to me) that she has even more ghostly and ghastly stories to tell! This time she shares two, and both deal with family...and what happens, sometimes, after our beloved family members die.  (In my opinion, Amy handled all that happened with extreme aplomb, because I would have ru...

This week is our second in our October Spooktacular, and the build up to All Hallows Eve! And my guest, Tangerine, shares two dastardly tales of terror... "Who the hell is that guy in the corner?" AND, what happened when Tangerine was living alone but SUDDENLY DISCOVERED that she in fact, wasn't living alone, and there was a very real, and very scary, roommate. These two tales will be sure to spoo...

I begin our October Spooktacular with my guest Krysta Kelley!  This seeming ghost magnet shares four different ghost stories, all guaranteed to make you a little scared of the dark.  From her experience in a dining room at a fishing lodge, to her work as a chef in the basement of a grocery store...a grocery store that was a former butchery and meat processor...her tales are sure to make you afraid...

Christina talks two magical occurences in this episode-the first is about home, and where she and her kids would live...Santa Fe is already a dicey place to find a home in this market, but somehow, one day, everything came together to find a place to lay their heads! It took one sleepy teenager, and skipping a day of snowboarding, but in the end, they got exactly what they needed. The next miracle...

In our longer conversation he shares his idea of what a miracle looks like...and here's a clue...it's connection and atoms and galaxies and stories! We talk Beowulf & Grendel and heroes and monsters. (I love the monsters!) We discuss how many tales, and many stor...

Amy is indomitable, and her miracle story really touched me, especially as I am doing my own deep work to excavate just who I am...(a life-long process really, if we're lucky!) Sometimes it's our ancestors who give us gifts, sometimes our ancestors give us lessons, and sometimes...they give us stories we need to unpack and heal. Amy shares just such a story in this longer episode, and it'll be sur...

She reads two of her poems in this episode, and both are beautiful creations, and one even addresses a family miracle that happened oh so long ago! We talk bravery and courage, the power our ancestors have and delicious Italian Sunday dinners. But it's her last sto...
