Scotty Connell has one of the most exciting jobs in Australia. Taking intrepid travellers on safari in the remote Kimberley region of Western Australia; a place he’s called home since he was a boy. He’s an award winning tour guide, author and adventurer and he knows a thing or two about the bush. With ‘Bush Yarns’ podcast, Scotty chats with local legends and special guests, sharing the spirit of God’s country. Each episode revolves around life changing experiences, bush tucker, interesting animal encounters and plenty more.

Before I rocked up, Shane’o had spent 6 months and 3 weeks caretaking the Mt Hart Wilderness Lodge in the King Leopold Ranges on the Gibb River Road on his own. So much happens in a Kimberley Wet season of isolation. The place is alive! Be sure to stick this one out to the end, it’s one of Scotty’s favourites in the Bush Yarns series so far. When Toddy went for an arvo fish for some Barra he never expected to spend nearly 30 mins in the mouth of a hungry croc. 2 legs and an index finger were on the menu for “Kev” the Croc. Worst case scenario. Picture this - You’re As “Faraway” from civilisation as you can get in Australia, it’s the end of a long day in the hot sun and BOOM a deadly brown snake bites hard with full intention of harm.
