God gives us an average Joe, so that we would make God our hero.

The world we live in has always and still is defined by father failure and man behaving badly. What’s the fix? Throw away your gods and come to the one true God.

God makes it clear that he expects us to wrestle with Him and people. God wrestles with Jacob in chapter 32 and 33 and sets the stage for all the families of the earth to be faithful by wrestling with God like a good family should. By wrestling with God we will prevail.

Our man in Haran. In Genesis 29-31, Jacob ends up on his Uncle Laban’s funny farm. Will Jacob end up in a straight jacket or will God help him thru this hilarious and trying time in Jacob’s life?

God’s Holy Family is a mess. Most families can relate at some time. What will God do?  Will he keep his promises rolling? God announces he is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and we should find great comfort in that.

God’s Funny Royal Family continues with Isaac and Rebekah - they are flawed but faithful. That’s good news for all of us.

In Genesis 25 Abraham finally dies.  What do we make of the man that Jesus talks so much about, the ordinary husband and wife team that God attaches his name to?  God is the God of the ordinary and he makes a spectacular story out of the ordinary. That’s good news for us!

Isaac and Rebekah’s match making story and marriage occupies center stage of the book of Genesis because marriage is God’s thing - we need to look, smell and sip the meaning of this story.

Nothing to see here?  That would be a mistake. God’s mother of his plan of saving the world is dead. But her legacy continues on.

There is nothing we need more than a good friend, Abe and Sara are God’s story for us to be friends with God.

To live a life in full we need reliable promises. God’s mom and pop story with Abraham and Sara is designed to raise them on God’s Promise so that we would be raised on The Promises too!

Genesis 12 is a landmark passage that is used by Jesus and it’s all about how God loves seeds and sows seeds of love in all people.

God makes History with the meek. Abram will become the good news for the world because God does not need mighty men just the meek who humble themselves.

Genesis 10-11 will move from prehistory to history with God’s artistic flare to get us to the progress of redemption.

The world might be embarrassed about Noah but Jesus sees Noah as real as he is. Let’s see what Jesus thinks is meaningful about Noah.

The famous story of Noah is about God’s desire to rescue first, and judgement needs to be understood by all of us Adams.

Because of God’s Love He gives us a clear warning.
