Jesus takes and old story of two sons and adds a powerful image of God to it. Imagining God every day as our Big Daddy, Best Dad Ever, the One Who Finds Us and Forgives us with a party! This is the central story in Uncle Luke’s telling of all things Jesus. Jesus has the authority to define God and us - this story needs told all the time!

Why does Jesus hang with the low lives? Because God is a finder of all people, since we are made in His image, and are all lost. Luke 15:1-10.

Jesus tells his audience they need to be salty. As always, Jesus leads from the front putting on a clinic of God’s idea of saltiness. Jesus is salty and we should be too. Luke 14:7-35

God’s Sabbath is His awesome idea. We turn it into something black. Jesus is happy to upset our idea of Sabbath if it’s not right. God’s idea of Sabbath is like a mother hen gather her chicks under her wing. Luke 13:10-14:6

The gossip train loaded with superstitious mumbo jumbo comes to Jesus and Jesus hops on and derails the train. The year of our Lord digging humanity and putting manure on us has been God’s work thru the Holy Spirit for 2000 years! The world may still seem ready for God’s fire, but clearly Jesus has dug in and spread manure on us so much that good fruit continues to grow. Luke 13:1-9.

Why can’t anyone figure Jesus out? Why do we only want God to be our small claims court connection? Why do we make God and God’s will such a rodeo? Jesus says if we F around we will find out that we have a serious butt kicking ahead…and he’s going to give it! This is our story, listen in :)

Jesus likes the Bible, and read the Bible. He loves the Jonah story and the story of a black girl from Ethiopia. In fact, he says she will be there when God judges the world saying “Mmmmhhmmmm, that’s right.” Luke 11:29-12-10

Jesus is accused, irrationally, of working for Beelzebul, prince of demons, lord of the flies. Jesus responds (like God in the rest of the Bible) with large dose of logic, not superstition. We need to get a grip with Biblical reality. Luke 11:14-28

Prayer, according to Jesus, is far more than we usually understand. Jesus teaches us to live on a prayer. Luke 11:1-13

Breaking glass ceilings is always God’s business, making glass ceilings is on us. Jesus values males and females as both made in the image of God, no hesitation, no catches. Luke 10:38-42

Won’t you be my neighbor? Fred Rogers got all his material from Jesus. The world becomes a better place, neighborhood, when we follow God’s lead. Jesus’ story of the Samaritan defines what should all do - and drops us on our knees for what we all do - love God, love neighbor. Luke 10:29-37.

Just like today, someone is trying to stick it to the man, Jesus Christ, the Son of Man and the Son of God. As usual, Jesus turns the table and keeps it simple: Love God and love your neighbor as yourself - and you will live forever. Luke 10:25-28.

We’re on a mission from God again and this time, Jesus adds in another 72 to take his powers with his message. What is his message? Who God is, is the message of Jesus and the whole of Biblical History. Luke 10:1-24

The Apostles reveal why Jesus had to take His power away from them. Remember it is the Apostles telling us this. Can we hear what is wrong with the world and why God says a New Dominion is coming. Luke 9:49-56.

Jesus’ object lesson of a child changed the world. Who is the greatest? Luke 9:46-48

Jesus says the generation is twisted, starting with his disciples. We haven’t changed, our generation is twisted too. The apostles are kind in showing how they were twisted so that we can see how we are twisted, and how Jesus gets us straight.

Everyone in the world has ADD. Jesus’ hand picked best buds fall asleep in prayer with Jesus, sound familiar? What is the one thing we should all hear? Come up the mountain with Jesus, Peter, John, James and even Moses and Elijah to hear God say one thing for everyone to hear. Luke 9:28-36

Who do you say Jesus is? That’s his question, and he explains who he is. He is the Christ of God, defeated, killed and raised in three days. He is the Kingdom of God. He is not the Kingdom of Man. It’s his world and time to give him credit. Luke 9:1-27.

The best question that can be answered, and Uncle Luke shows how Jesus himself answered the question. Luke 8:22-56

We are suckers for secrets. Jesus has a secret, have you heard?

Making love is God’s idea, Jesus pokes a pompous pedantic prick in the nose and gives us a prostitute the learn about God’s love making. Luke 7:38-8:3

A Roman soldier shows us all how faith in God works, then Jesus gives a WORD TO A MOTHER that we all need to hear. Luke 7:1-17
