Of all the things Christians can do to look like Christ, what is THE thing?

We’ve spent the last few weeks looking at the prayers of Jesus in the gospels. What matters to Jesus? This week look at the prayers of Jesus for his family. There’s something special about family and the people closest to Him.

Description: Losing loved ones is always difficult. We can often feel lonely as a result, but God understands. He too, lost someone very close to him. Today we look at how Jesus prayed during the time of loss. We learn a lot about people when they pray.

For the next several weeks we're going to look at and practice the prayers of Jesus. Prayer soften reveal what's really in our hearts and what's important to us. If you really want to know Jesus, you have to pray!

In life we have many different choices we can make. The choices we make can depend on our influences. Who are you influencing or investing in?

There's a mantra in racing that's "run through the tape". Finish the race well! We need to remember that with our faith as well. We continue our series looking at Uzziah and his story. How will your story end?

Many times when we talk to people we like to name drop. It makes us feel more important and more connected. But this series we're jumping into is the opposite end of that. We're looking at three kings that aren't "well known" and learning about their story.

When we think about the sin in our life, most people use a very narrow sense. They think in more legalistic terms. However, there's another aspect it affects as well, our relationship with God. The foundation of sin is mistrust and if we don't trust God, we are giving sin a chance to become greater in our lives.

Life is stressful. Worrying about expensive repairs, social drama or getting good grades in school can wear you down. Don't settle for contractual Christianity because it sets the bar low. This path leads to alternatives of being blessed...

Tree's represent many things in life. We often see different depictions of tree's representing different things as well. One thing tree's represent is assurance. There's two paths you can: one of righteousness or one of wickedness. Want to be blessed? Walk in Righteousness.

Where are your allegiances? Are they with video games, slime, art, Christmas lights, or LeBron James? Many times we find delight in our Allegiances. Came the same be said about the Bible for you?

Have you ever tried to change how you are to impress someone else? If you have to do that, are you surrounding yourself with the right people? if you want to be Blessed, surround yourself with Blessed Associates.

What's The Secret to finding Joy? Is there a secret sauce of things you have to do to have Joy in your life? Live giving Joy starts with being content with what you have and where you are now.

There's never Peace without Joy. Why is that so few experience true Peace? It was given to us when Jesus came.

Is your home in Heaven? Or is it here on earth? Earth is only a temporary home, but do we treat it like that?

Today we celebrated Brookside's 45th Anniversary. What kind of impact can we have going forward? We can do everything right, but are we doing it the right way? Is our attitude and approach the way God would want it?

Do we ever celebrate in other's victories? Life isn't a competition. When we realize that we haven't seen it all or done it all we will find true Joy in God's plan for us.

Do you feel like your journey as a Christian is like a workout? Big promises, but the requirements are overwhelming? We continue to look at Paul's message in Philippians and he finishes with "do all things without grumbling or arguing." Wow, that's hard?!?! But, what if we did? We could find true and everlasting JOY!

At what cost is the thrill of victory worth? We love to be victories, or right, but is there a line that's too far? JOY isn't found in winning, it's found in HUMILITY and putting others first.

Paul experienced a lot of turmoil in his life, but he still had joy. He write about Joy in Philippians. All of his Joy was in the Lord and he still proclaimed His name even when things weren't going his way. In everything give thanks to the Lord, even despite your circumstances because every problem has a benefit.

There's no doubt there is a lack of Joy in our world today. Driving down the road or scrolling through Facebook, we as society are lacking Joy. If Paul, sitting in prison, can speak of Joy in his writings, why can't we? Regardless of our circumstances, can we still have Joy in this world? Where is this Joy found?

The finale of our SHAPE series, we come to the letter E, for Experience. A little bit of experience can multiply confidence. We delight in people knowing we have experience in something, except when it's negative. Your experiences Shape the person you are today.
