Breakfast With Barry Lee

Barry's guest this week is John Gavitt, a lover of the outdoors and the animals that live there.  He is so passionate about God's critters that he spent his life protecting them, sometimes going undercover for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  Now retired, John shares how he is protecting the land around him so that it stays natural forever.  

The last time that Barry talked to Caitlin McHale (Floreal) was 30 years ago on a TV Cable Talk interview about her elementary school project.  Today she is running two schools in the Dominican Republic providing education to disenfranchised Haitian children.  Caitlin shares her inspirational journey, as well as the need for repairs to the school's old bus.

Barry's guest this week is Holly Roberts, Executive Director of 'Love To Nic', a nonprofit created in memory of her son that helps provide homeless adults with shoes, socks and meals, Barry's second guest is Jay Keffer, who extends an invitation to participate in the "Stamp Out Hunger Letter Carrier Food Drive" on Saturday, May 11th.

On this first podcast of 2024, Barry interviews Tootie Rinker, about a brand new non profit, 'Sleep In Heavenly Peace'.  This organization is lining up volunteers to build beds for local kids that have no bed of their own to sleep in. Barry closes the show with his Uncle Harlan's resolution for 2024 ... 

This Christmas week program features Robin Ramsey, the Executive Director of the F.R.E.E. Foundation of the Northern Shenandoah Valley.  FREE provides gently used rehab equipment to those in need and Robin discusses how the Chain of Checks grant money will be used. Barry shares a memory of a past Christmas and the surprise gift from his son that made him cry. 

On this episode Barry highlights two more nonprofits that have applied for Chain of Checks grants.  He interviews Juli Ferrell with Timber Ridge School and Jenny Callis of the Highland Food Pantry.
