Jesus calls us to serve, pursue, give and focus on that which is BEYOND ourselves. The mission and dream of Jesus has always called the Christ-follower to be a part of something so much bigger than themselves. In our State of the Church address we share where Branch Church is going (locally & globally) in 2017 and how we are going to get there.

The best thing you can do in 2017 is commit to READ, STUDY and APPLY God's Word to your life. Why? Because the Bible has the power to influence and change your life for the better. Millions of men and women have changed history because God used the Bible to change them.

The beauty of Christmas is not so much THAT Jesus came, but WHY He came. We're not celebrating a BABY. We're celebrating a SAVIOR.

The first person to doubt the virgin birth was Mary herself. A lot of times our natural response to faith opportunities God places in our lives is CONFUSION, FEAR and DOUBT. As Christians we must remember that God often interrupts what WE ARE DOING so we can join in what HE IS DOING.

The world had to wait 4,000 years for the birth of Christ and the hope He brought. God did not work through our timeframe but His. I'm sure the generations of waiting made the children of Israel feel like they were forgotten. As Christians, we must trust God even when His answer is wait.

In Athens, the Apostle Paul stumbles across an altar with the inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. It broke Paul's heart to see a people desiring to know God but not knowing who He is and what He has done for them. He would get the opportunity to preach Christ on Mars Hill and help introduce people to God.

In Malachi 1, God expresses rebuke towards the Jews and the animals they offered as sacrifices. It was a wake up call concerning their attitude of disregard for God. As Christians, it is too easy to go through the "motions" of religion and lack the passion, thankfulness and reverence God deserves.
