Bourbon Barrel Talk

Matt and Scott sit down with Mark and Sherri Carter and discuss whats new with them. We discuss upcoming releases, the new shop, and the Old Carter Social Club. 

The crew painstakingly discusses a great deal of whiskey, and figures out which 64 make the list, for you the listener to vote on. We broke down the bracket into four regions, bourbon, rye, whiskey, and finished whiskeys. Vote now and often on who you think should move on. 

Scott sits down with the crew and reviews Jack Daniels most recent releases, the Distillery Series. Two ryes, one finished in maple wood barrels, one double oaked and the bourbon/whiskey was finished in pecan wood. Batches 8, 9, and 10, were very interesting from what we typically drink.  

Scott and the fellas discuss the recent split between bourbon powerhouse Sazerac and their longtime business partners and distributor RNDC. Our thoughts and hopes what will occur from this switch.

We discussed the differences between the two ryes and complexity that the cherries give to the Old Fashioned Barbara made.
