THIS IS (NOT) THE END. We were hoping to do this one right before the release of Saw XI . Unfortunately, numerous obstacles have made it appear to be game over for one of our favorite horror franchise (though recent reports say otherwise), thus we decided to record this The Saw franchise has had its ups and downs, with the low points being more recent and arguably more plentiful, but the tenth fil...

"OH, JARNATHAN!" Twenty-five years ago, the first attempt at a Dungeons & Dragons movie was released. Unfortunately, not even Jeremy Irons' funny little dragon call could save it. Twenty-three years later, the second attempt was released -- one that succeeded and was lauded for its senses of fun, heart, and love for the game. Unfortunately, it got released right after another big franchise's s...

"MEMORIES BRING BACK, MEMORIES BRING BACK YOU." We thought that Kraven was the last Sony Marvel movie we had to watch. We were wrong. Though we may have covered it in an episode of the main show back when it first released, we have yet to tackle the third live action Eddie Brock adventure for this one until now. Is it truly as bad as we remember? Come join Brian and Alec to find out as they bid go...

"I'M GOING TO GET SICK." Long before the days of Blade , X-Men , and Spider-Man , Marvel films were borderline nonexistent. Only a handful got made, and none on the theatrical level of endeavors such as Superman: The Movie or Batman 1989. One such endeavor was the Yugoslavian-produced venture based on Marvel's Star Spangled Man with a Plan. The film has become subject to jest and ridicule over the...

WHAT'S THE POINT OF BEING ALIVE? While Joker was one of 2019's most successful films, it was also one of its most divisive. While many clamored for a sequel, others believed this version told its story and needed no further exploration, and anything more would only show how shallow that film was. Turns out, Todd Phillips is in the camp of the latter as he made a whole movie about that very fact. T...

WE GOT NOTHING. For all intents and purposes, the Sony Marvel Universe is finally dead and buried. No new projects on the horizon, and rumors about Spider-Man 4 being a big crossover between the two franchises seem to be in doubt. So, because we have to, it's time to take a look at the final nail in the coffin. Come join Brian, Alec, and special guest Darby (@gwenstacying) as they take a look what...

"THAT'S MY LINE." Well over a hundred commentary tracks since we first started this show in 2022, and we have yet to do a full-blown musical (the Persona 5 stage show doesn't count, shut up). That is, until now! One of the most popular musicals of all time -- if not THE most popular -- has finally made its way to the big screen. Well, halfway, that is. With its second and final act premiering late...

"THERE'S SO MANY F#&*ING RULES." Amongst the abyss of Hollywood live action anime adaptations that have languished in development hell for the past twenty-five years, one that was expedited was a new take on one of the most popular and highly-acclaimed manga and anime of all time -- Death Note . What resulted from this was a film that got dropped from its theatrical distributor, picked up by N...

SAY THE LINE, SAM! Now that they're in the new year, and with many weeks to go before their next marathon, the boys have decided to take a look at random films they've been itching to commentate over, both old and new. One such film is a genuine marvel as to how it got made, and could very well be considered the original meme movie. Come join Brian and Alec as they revisit all the good, bad, and u...

"GET THE CROWN, SAVE THE TOWN, AND MR. KRABS!" Happy 2025! To kick off the year, the boys figured it was high time to watch a film they forgot to watch two years ago! Like many people their age, SpongeBob was an enormous staple of their childhoods, made even bigger due to its classic theatrically-released film. So, to celebrate the movie's (belated) twentieth anniversary, come join Brian and Alec...

HARRISON FORD WAS RIGHT. There are many things about Star Wars that live in infamy. The Phantom Menace , The Rise of Skywalker , the Ewok movies, the fanbase, the list goes on. However, one might reign supreme above them all... except for the fanbase, there's no topping that. While the writing process was full-steam ahead for The Empire Strikes Back , Lucas and co. decided to produce a holiday spe...

WHY IS THIS ACTUALLY GOOD? Despite everything going against it, the first Sonic movie ended up being a big hit with fans and audiences. Going forward, there were two paths the filmmakers could've walked in response to it: venturing further away from the material, or embracing it even harder. Thankfully, Fowler and co. did the latter, as the sequel that arrived two short years later brought about s...

"THAT WAS AN ILLEGAL LEFT, BY THE WAY." While it is the holiday season, an even more important festivity is on the horizon that we must prepare for. Sonic has had a checkered history across the board, with a loud and often-unsatisfied fanbase and projects that are seemingly cursed to be divisive or written off altogether. One such project was the live action movie, its first trailer living in infa...

"THIS IS JUST LIKE GUILTY CROWN " - ROGER EBERT Happy Holidays everyone! 2024 is finally winding down, and it's time to spread some of that cheer! We've all had our favorite and least favorite films to watch during the most wonderful time of the year, but what happens when revisiting a classic reveals its true terrifying uncanniness? Come join Brian and Alec to find out as they take a magical and...

HE JUST LIKE US FR! With a lot of films pushed back due to the 2023 strikes, the coveted month of May saw an unusual dry spell of big blockbusters, one that hadn't been seen since the pandemic. However, one movie managed to nab the first weekend slot that Disney had the monopoly on for four years -- David Leitch's The Fall Guy . This film didn't receive a whole lot of commercial buzz around the ti...

"REMEMBER: YOU ARE ONE." One of Alec's most anticipated movies he saw at the film fest has been sweeping the globe, with critics and audiences raving about its performances, commentary, and grotesque horror. It ended up being his favorite film of the year, and now that it's out on digital, there's only one thing left to do. So, come join Alec as he introduces Brian to one of 2024's best films -- T...

SANG-HWA THE GOAT! We're finally back from our hiatus, and things are pretty dire right now, all things considered. So, time to crack into our not-Halloween special to distract from it all! Zombie movies have been seen as passé for a while, but something about this film seemed to strike such a chord that more and more started popping up in recent years. So, how did they do it? Come join Brian to f...

"KNOCK KNOCK, LET THE DEVIL IN!" After many years of trying and failing, and despite just having started a working relationship with Marvel via a new take on Spider-Man, Sony's (let's be honest, Avi Arad's) dream of making a solo film of Eddie Brock's darker half finally came true in 2018. Despite being critically panned to hell and back and being an absolute mess that didn't exactly know what it...

"WHAT, YOU'VE NEVER BEEN SHOT IN QUEENS?" In preparation for Venom: The Last Dance next week, the boys realized it was time to take a look at the two SPUMC movies that they have yet to watch on the show. First up on the chopping block: somehow still in contention for one of the worst movies of the year. Everyone collectively laughed when the Madame Web movie was announced in 2019, and it was even...

WE'RE NOT DONE YET... The Tomorrowthon may be over, but we still have one overdue bad DC animated movie to conquer before we can see the light of day. Last year, we watched one of the most bizarre crossovers culminate in a boring, confusing, and straight up weird Part One, and now it's time to see how this rotten cookie crumbled. So, come join Brian, Alec, and special guest Darby (@gwenstacying on...

IT'S OVER... The boys have finally reached the end of another marathon. They are exhausted. They have lived. They have died. They will never be the same again. Come join Brian and Alec as they finish off the TOMORROWTHON by suffering through the unbearable JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS TRILOGY!

IT'S ALMOST OVER... With five movies left to go and only two slots left to watch them in, we're pulling double duty once again. This time, the Tomorrowverse is bringing two different team-up movies, and both are boring and bad in their own unique ways! You all know the drill, it's time to lose our sanity. Come join Brian and Alec as they continue the TOMORROWTHON with two of the most bizarre proje...

LET ME OUT OF HERE! We are now halfway through the Tomorrowthon, and this ordeal is not getting any easier. Next up on the docket, a movie about John Stewart. This HAS to be hard to make bad, right? We're gonna be back on the upswing with this one, right? Right? Oh, god. Come join Brian and Alec as they suffer through the other bad Green Lantern movie -- GREEN LANTERN: BEWARE MY POWER !

BATMAN SAYS "NO GIRLS ALLOWED!" The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale is considered to be one of the best Batman stories of all-time, with many citing how it not only streamlined the origin of villains like Two-Face, but told a perfect story of the fall of the mob and the rise of the supervillains in Gotham. Making an animated film (or in this case, films) adapting it in full seemed like a...

FEATURING DEATH BELLS LOUD ENOUGH TO GIVE YOU TINNITUS! After the relative success of Man of Tomorrow , the new DC Animated Universe continued with its next project: a period piece about the Justice Society. Unfortunately, between an out-of-place character, bizarre plot twists, a nameless villain, and a complete tonal 180, this might not have been the go-to. Come join Brian and Alec as they contin...
