Society EN ↓ 121 episodes

The show is about all nostalgic things Boomer: Everything about growing up Boomer that would and could interest a Boomer. It's about wearing that label with pride; even though some may use it pejoratively. We're not saying other generations are bad, just that we had a lot of fun growing up and we like to look back fondly at those things in our culture that shaped us. This includes movies, TV, music, school, clothes, activities and everything else. So listen along with us and enjoy the trip back for a while.

042 Old Friends; New Memories 30.11.2021

This episode is about reconnecting with old friends which with social media is quite a bit easier these days. However, much like a face to face encounter, an online one is subject to several things, one of which is that after years of not communicating the person may have changed or you may have. Focus on what you used to have in common and everything should be fine. Support the show See Privacy P...

040 Oklahoma & Texas To The SEC - Revisited 17.11.2021

This episode is a visitation of the exodus of the universities of Texas and Oklahoma from the Big 12 to the SEC in light of their losses over the last weekend. There is a lot of noise out there from the sports pundits; most of it being negative. Of course, they love throwing dirt on these two schools because they just hate the fact that they decided to move. They are perpetuating the myth that the...

039 To Vax or Not To Vax; That IS The Question! 09.11.2021

This week whether or not to get the vaccine is discussed. Spoiler alert YES if you're a Boomer as you are right in the risk group. We can do 10 shows on all the irregularities that have been involved in this whole situation and all the lies and cancel culture perpetrated by YOUR own government. However, at the roost of this question is whether that is separate from your choice to get the vaccine o...

038 Why Boomers Ignore Insults From Millennials and Younger 02.11.2021

We all know that the generations after the Baby Boomers blame all the problems they and the world have on them. Much the same was done by a lot of Boomers in their youth. They talked about high minded ideals, freedom and equality and so forth. You can debate the sincerity of it but then compare it with the ignorant and foul mouthed rantings of millennials and younger when they discovered that thei...

037 For Boomers Words Still Mean Things 25.10.2021

This episode delves into one of the reasons that Boomers are blamed and, indeed, hated by many of the generations after it is that we still believe that words mean things. We don't subscribe to the ridiculous reframing of the English language down to new  and multiple pronouns. We don't agree that just saying you are something and that something exists means you are a science denier, racist or hat...

036 What Are Boomer Economics & What Can You Do? 18.10.2021

This week Pete Moss talks about the challenge of the economics of being a Boomer. What are the economics? How do they affect Boomers (and other generations)? What are the things Boomers could and should do to make the situation better (not that it's necessarily bad). Of course, retirement looms large on the horizon for Boomers and it will affect that generation as well as the ones that will come a...

035 Final Word on the $3.5 TRILLION Spending Package 11.10.2021

In the last word on the $3.5 trillion spending package that democrats are trying to ram through with reconciliation as a "budget" I'm not talking about it anymore. If you wonder why I used the quotation marks it's because it includes taxes, immigration, welfare programs and a host on non-budgetary items. It has been deemed the Trojan Horse bill and that is a great nickname for it. Those...

034 More Lunacy From Dems; $600 Bank Reporting Threshold 27.09.2021

In this episode we examine the continuing trend of the Democrats to ask for the outrageous hoping for the ridiculous. In this case it is the absurd proposal from Biden to lower the IRS transaction reporting threshold from $10,000 to $600. What????! Of course to keep track of that haystack to look for the needle we will need 87,000 new IRS agents. This is absurdity on display when the bar should ac...

033 Medicare is Broke & SS Isn't Far Behind 20.09.2021

In this episode we discuss the fact that Medicare is broke! Anyone connected with the government will tell you it isn't. That is a lie! There are no plans to do anything about it that would materially help the situation and we explain how that and the fact that all the blame is being heaped on the Baby Boomers for the problem (not forgetting Covid of course). Again, it's a great big excrement sand...

032 Inflation Is Killing Your Income and Retirement 13.09.2021

In this episode Pete tells us what inflation is and why you should be concerned about it. Dr. Milton Friedman always said it was the cruelest tax of all and it is. And you don't have to wait for congress to put it in effect, IT'S ALREADY HAPPENING! You and everyone else are being affected by it and you may not even be aware of it. We also discuss why it might be particularly harmful to boomers. Su...

031 What's Next, Taxing Breathing? New Vehicle Mileage Tax Passes 06.09.2021

In this episode Pete Moss tells you about the wonderful "Infrastructure" bill and the little present that Transportation Secretary Buttigieg has for you there courtesy of 19 Republicans including the spineless Mitch McConnell. It is still being talked about as experimental and pilot. Hey Congress! We're not tourists here we know the drill. This is going to happen and Pete tells you how a...

030 Bye Bye Inheritance & Savings; Biden & Sanders Need Them! 23.08.2021

This episode of the show deals with something that Boomers and all the generations that follow them need to look at. It's the inheritance grab that Bernie Sanders proposed and that Biden has embraced. Where did you think the money for this so-called infrastructure bill was going to come from? Mark Zuckerberg, George Soros and Jeff Bezos. Wrong, billionaire breath. The so-called rich they will tax...

027 Our Message To Texas Democrats - "Well...Bye" 02.08.2021

In this episode Pete Moss, a Texan himself, discusses the flight of Texas democrat representatives from the state to Washington, D.C. to draw attention to themselves and fight against the inevitable passing of new voting regulations aimed at curbing voting irregularities and returning them back to pre-pandemic normalcy. The democrats will say they left and denied a quorum to the Texas legislature...

026 Bye Bye Boomers, You'll Miss Us When We're Gone 26.07.2021

In this episode the hole in the workforce that is being left by retiring Boomers is discussed. Although many younger generations wish Boomers would just go away and die, companies who have them as employees are not prepared to lose them yet. In addition, it is being found that these same generations haven't got properly trained nor ambitious enough people that can replace or even succeed them. The...
