Blood and Black Rum Podcast - A Cult Film / Horror Podcast

Ryne and Martin take on a different kind of horror - a Wes Anderson film - with The Grand Budapest Hotel. We kid - we both like Wes Anderson, and we thoroughly enjoyed this quirky romp through time.

Blood and Black Rum Podcast discusses the Japanese noir/murder mystery film Voice Without a Shadow, from Arrow Video's Blu-Ray release Nikkatsu Diamond Guys: Vol. 1. It's an intriguing murder mystery that doesn't give the viewer a chance to guess the mastermind behind the murder.

We're still in the Christmas spirit. Martin's never seen Silent Night, Deadly Night either, so Ryne thought it was important that he experience this cult classic (though not a very good film) during the Christmas season. We talk silly montages, the inexplicable direction of the film, and then rate the film on a scale of 1 to 10 bloody boxcutters.

This week on the Blood and Black Rum Podcast, we check out Black Christmas - the 1974 one from Bob Clark. Martin had never seen it, so part of this episode deals with his experience watching it. The other part is Ryne's orgasm about how great it is. Somehow, they meet in the middle.

The guys at the Blood and Black Rum Podcast love bad movies, especially those that are so hilariously bad you can't help but love them. Nothing epitomizes that condition more than Troll 2, a film so flawed that it's difficult not to find it entertaining. Even so, we consume a copious amount of beer to get through it.

We tackle horror television, including this season's The Walking Dead and the first three episodes of Ash vs. Evil Dead. We sneak in some talk about Fallout 4 and Nuka Cola Quantum along the way. Listen in!

We rank the Evil Dead series, appreciate Bruce Campbell's commitment to Three Stooges comedy, and even speculate on where a new Army of Darkness movie could go next.

Blood and Black Rum Podcast heads to South Africa with Tremors 5: Bloodlines, a sequel 11 years after Tremors 4. It has little to do with that previous one, but it's a fairly good representation of the franchise all the same. We talk about Michael Gross, Jamie Kennedy, and catching the original Tremors on AMC.

Our final installment of the Vacation podcast series finishes things off with European Vacation and Vegas Vacation, as well as some diatribes on Beethoven (the movie), EuroTrip, and things to come on the Blood and Black Rum Podcast.
