Blog Oklahoma Podcast
The Blog Oklahoma Podcast is an open topic podcast, so I'm likely to talk about anything. Mostly though, I'll share writing, blogging, podcasting, and other tech information; attempt to keep everyone up on Oklahoma current events, especially when it's time to go vote; highlight some of Oklahoma's fascinating history; and I'll also let everyone in on my day to day life here in the Great State of Oklahoma. And as always, thank you for listening to the Blog Oklahoma Podcast.

Blog Oklahoma Podcast 70: Goodreads 05.08.2010 15:09
Hey everyone. Sorry I couldn't get a podcast out last week. I just got tangled up in other projects to properly work on one. To make up for it, I'm starting to roll out few new segments to the podcast that I hope you'll enjoy. Blog Oklahoma Podcast 69: a small cold dark north facing windowless office 21.07.2010 12:44
It's just too hot, too dusty, and too cat infested at the home office right now to do a podcast. So I brought my podcasting equipment down to the small cold dark north facing windowless office, all in the hopes I can do at least an adequate job in a cool cat free environment. For those of you unfamiliar with the small cold dark north facing windowless office, it's my day job office. It's a small o...

I've been watch several World Cup matches over the last week or so and I've discovered something. They're 90 minutes long. So I've had to do something to keep my American short attention span in check. I've found on a few broadcasts I can switch language feeds. The other day I watched an entire match in German. Very entertaining. Oh wait a moment, something missing. I'm talking about World Cup and...
Blog Oklahoma Podcast 66: Primary Season 14.06.2010 15:34
Did you know it now only takes 2 minutes to make popcorn. I don't know why I brought that up. It's probably because I've only had a grilled cheese sandwich today and I guess I'm hungry. It's amazing though in roughly 2 minutes I can enjoy some hot buttery popcorn. I'm just old enough to remember it use to take 3 1/2 minutes, and you use to have to stand by the microwave and listen for it to stop p...

The only moment of peace I've had all week were the few hours it took to mow the lawn. The first mow of the season. It's just me, the l...

Blog Oklahoma Podcast 58: Big Home Hunter 29.03.2010 13:32
You would think that getting a new house would be a fairly straight forward process; you determine what you want, get a list of homes that fit that criteria and then you select one. In practice, it is a chaotic and confusing fall down a rabbit hole of increasingly complex legal and financial requirements spinning around your head like angry bees, waiting to swoop in and sting you if you make a sin...
Blog Oklahoma Podcast 57: Is it spring yet? 22.03.2010 15:24
When I started doing some preliminary work last night for this week's podcast there was a few inches of snow on the ground. Now as I'm recording this, I look out the home office window, and I hardly see any snow except for a few shady spots. It's amazing how Oklahoma's weather works. Really nice day Friday, blizzard Saturday, nice day Sunday. But that is the old running gag here in the state, isn'...
Blog Oklahoma Podcast 56: Play Ball 15.03.2010 21:29
Now that my body's internal sense of time is all messed up due to daylight saving time, I can honestly say I have no idea what time it is. At least my sense of the seasons is still working. The weather is getting warm, the birds are singing, the weeds in my lawn are starting to turn green, oh yes I know exactly what this means. It means Baseball season is just around the corner. The Grapefruit and...

As I record this podcast it's 32 degrees outside. How many of you are so ready for spring? There are many things you can do to get ready for spring, one of which is to start planning your garden. Here at the home office we've gotten a start our vegetable garden by planting some seeds in a starter tray. In fact that tray is about six feet away from me right now. We put it here in the office so we c...
