Blind Veterans UK Review - in chapters

During military week members went to RAF Valley and were shown around. This photo shows the members, partners and staff standing in front of a Hunter Hawk plane.

The concert was organised by lady Pearson in aid of St. Dunstan’s. The first postcard shows a man walking with a child, with the caption “Blinded for you.” On the back of the postcards there are six messages you can see on the postcards, including “Blinded,” “Memories,” “Pals,” “When night sets in the sun is down,” “St. Dunstan’s Victory over Blindness.”

The first postcard shows the centre from front. The photo is black and white and is taken from ground level on the lawn. The second postcard shows the written note on the back. It has been sent home from the centre. It describes the weather in Llandudno as dull.

This is a photo of the story of the experience and thoughts of Ian Fraser. His view was that in the next few years the charity would have many more members join them as the effects of being POWs to the Japanese would become apparent.

This photo shows the front cover of a review magazine from the early years of the charity. It carries the motto of the charity ‘Victory over blindness.’ The cost of the magazine was six pence. It is no.57. 

This front cover of the November 1918 review magazine shows the clock hanging from the front of St Dunstan’s lodge. The price of the magazine was 6d (six pence or ‘tanner‘).

This photo shows the service sheet for celebration of laying the foundation stone of the building. There is a list of hymns and the Lord’s prayer. There is a tear in the bottom corner, showing the sheet to be dated.

This small booklet was used as a guide for an open day of the building in 2012. It covers the history of the building with a focus on the history of the original patron, Lady Forester. It is black and white and has an aerial photo of the building on the front cover.
