Throughout the Old Testament God calls Israel’s attention back to the Exodus. Over seventy times God tells them to remember what happened there and who it was that set them free. The Corinthians were enamored with spiritual gifts, specifically that of tongues. Their overemphasis led the Apostle Paul to write what some have said is the most important chapter in the New Testament. What we see in this chapter is that it’s nearly impossible to overemphasize the importance of the missing ingredient in the Corinthians lives.

The Apostle Paul closes out 1 Corinthians Ch.12 by detailing a proper understanding of the God given appointments in the Christian Church. One way to sum up the passage would be: zeal with contentment. Content as Christians where God has called us, yet zealous to be used more and more by Him.
