Episode 7: Black Sunday 31.08.2019 1:14:43
This week’s episode covers the 1960 Italian horror “Black Sunday”. Mario Bava, who had directed other films previously, but always uncredited, received his first actual credit here. A gory and violent movie for the time, it was banned in the UK until 1968. In the US, some scenes were censored and it was shown as a double feature with the completely different Little Shop of Horrors.
Episode 6: Eyes Without a Face 17.08.2019 1:05:09
Georges Franju’s 1960 classic gets a watch this week. Not much loved at the time of release, this film has since gone on to influence other directors (and Billy Idol).
Episode 5: A Bucket of Blood 03.08.2019 1:07:47
1959’s Roger Corman feature “A Bucket of Blood” gets a rundown this week. Beatniks, poets and some ridiculous sculptures abound. Dig it daddy-o’s! Starring the late, great Dick Miller.
Episode 4: Freaks 20.07.2019 1:13:18
Tod Browning’s 1932 cult classic “Freaks” gets a walk-through this week. Join us as we talk about Schlitzie, Prince Randian, Johnny Eck, Koo Koo and the rest of this fantastic cast. Episode 3: Carnival of Souls 06.07.2019 1:07:35
This week we watch and discuss Herk Harvey’s 1962 classic “Carnival of Souls”. A crazy organ score, creepy dancers and a nosy landlady are just some points of interest along the way.
Episode 2: Spider Baby 22.06.2019 57:54
Jack Hill’s 1967 film Spider Baby gets a run-through this week. Lon Chaney Jr., Carol Ohmart and Sid Haig star in this well made and very strange black comedy/horror.
Episode 1: The Invisible Man 08.06.2019 1:05:06
Welcome to Black and White Fright! Every other week, Bill, Kevin and Scott will cover one horror movie (in black and white, naturally). Some classics, some garbage, and some in-between. To kick things off, we mutually agreed on this pick of The Invisible Man. This is a classic from 1933 with some amazing effects, a landlady that can really scream and perhaps the first on-screen “what’s all this?”...
