Big Ten Football Talk

Georgia, Michigan, TCU, and Ohio State are the top four teams according the CFP committee.  We talk about why it makes sense, and why Bama didn't deserve to be in.  Plus, my initial thoughts on the semi-final match-ups.  

Power Rankings, Top 10, picks, and some smatterings of news in the Big Ten, including the Blake Corum injury, Mazi Smith's felony charge, Cade McNamara's transfer to Iowa, and the sad news of Mickey Joseph's arrest.  Plus, I briefly discuss why Ohio State really only has one shot at the playoff, not two.  

Lots of early news from the coaching carousel, including the shocking news that Luke Fickell, and not Jim Leonard, will be the next full-time head coach for the Wisconsin Badgers.  Plus, I dissect Matt Rhule's hiring at Nebraska, and some very good signs that Penn State is building a championship level team as they bring back the anchor of their offensive line.

Recap of week 13

With Matt Rhule being reported as Nebraska’s new head coach, the cornhuskers send off interim HC Mickey Joseph with a much deserved win. However, it leaves Iowa with a lot of questions if it ever wants to return back to the top of the conference.

#2 vs #3.  Division Championship on the line.  Conference Championship birth on the line.  Undefeated Season on the line. With all eyes on the final weekend of the regular season, it's easy to miss the intriguing appetizer that offers several match-ups that are worth a look, including Iowa @ Minnesota, Ohio State @ Maryland, and Illinois @ Michigan in what could be a Big Ten Title Game Preview.

First off, apologies, you can clearly hear my daughter laughing in the background!  As you hear her, you'll hear me rant about all the absurdities brought up to discredit CJ Stroud (and Justin Fields), and why they are indeed absurd.  

The West is on the line!  Illinois hosts Purdue, Wisconsin travels to Iowa, and a sneaky game as the Terps visit the Nittany Lions.  Week 11 picks, power rankings and top 10

Ohio State struggles with Northwestern, Rutgers led Michigan for a half, Illinois gets beat by Michigan State, and Tennessee, Clemson, and Alabama all lose!  (Most likely knocking Clemson and Alabama out of the playoff mix).  What does that mean?  Find out on the recap of the most bizarre week yet in college football.

The Big Ten slate isn't looking all that great, but Tennessee/Georgia should be really fun.  Plus, I rant about Paul Chryst some more, how I think PSU coaches/ADs should stop talking about their gripes, and how Sparty is actually handling things well right now in terms of the investigation into what happened at Michigan.  

Illinois is the clear driver in the West after dominating Nebraska.  The East, however, seems a bit more muddied as both Ohio State and Michigan sputter a bit.  However, Michigan never seem threatened, while Ohio State was lucky to survive in Happy Valley.  Also, special thank you to Christianna Otto, who designed the new cover art for the podcast!

We review my predictions from the beginning of the year and revise them a bit.  The East seems fairly simple, most likely Ohio State or Michigan.  However, the West is still wide open.  Can Illinois finish a wonderful underdog story, or will a traditional West power come storming back to reclaim their spot in Indy?  Also, who makes it into the field of four in the College Footb...

Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards ran over Penn State, Illinois beat up on Minnesota, but the game of the week (and maybe the year) goes to Tennessee's upset win over Alabama.  But does Tennessee's win over the mighty Crimson Tide mean they are better than Michigan or Ohio State?
