Bev's Video Kingdom

There are three rules for recording a pod with BVK which you MUST follow. One: Don't let them record in the daylight. Very low energy! Two: Feed them salty snacks while they record or they get grumpy Three: Don't let them keep drinking after midnight Breaking these rules could lead to dire consequences! 

Sometimes, someone’s got to get got. Who are you hiring for the job? That’s what BVK asked themselves this week, and they were joined by the Reel Drunks Jake and Matt to figure out whose team would get the job done and who picked a team of bumbling fools who would definitely botch the hit.

Was John Cusack the "Miles Teller" of the 80's and 90's? Who knows but BVK brings along some friends, Jake and Matt from Reel Drunks, to discuss the Cus' and this crazy hitman/high school reunion mash-up. Jack Nicholson super fans beware, BVK jumps in whole-heartedly into this draft with limited knowledge (but plenty of laughs) as we pick our Nicholson favorites! The Governor shows up and scolds us younger folk on our lack of respect for early Jack roles but a winner is eventually declared.

Tawny and Felicia host the "Two Chicks and a Horror Flick" podcast... and boy are they judgy! But that's exactly what the BVK crew wanted as we drafted scary scenes in non-horror movies. This category ended up being one of the most contentious we've ever had and it lead to some great banter as draft picks were shot down.

Ummmm, yeahhhhh... we think we drafted this week. We definitely drafted something. We don't know, man, we remember laughing a lot, our friend Pink came by, and then maybe one of us won something? We had some microphones (how do they work??? so wild!) and we hope we pressed record, but definitely check this one out... you'll feel it for like almost 2 hours. 

That's what we love about having a podcast, man... we get older but it stays the same age! Sounds creepy in that context too, but nevertheless the BVK crew sparked up the mics to talk Dazed and Confused and reminisce on their days of chasing parties, drinking shitty beer, and maintaining carefree attitudes. The BVK crew didn't want Summer to end, so we spent so much time talking about the most memorable swimming pool scenes in movies that our fingers and toes got all shriveled up! How do you create an argument? You choose a draft category that gets everyone riled up, and that's exactly what happened on this week's BVK draft of most memorable original songs in movies. The movie can't be a musical or cover song and it must be performed in the movie, but it better be memorable enough to have our professional musician judge, Josh, give it his stamp of approval!

Scotch Beck takes the wheel of this tractor which just happens to be plowing the fields and planting seed on a certain farm. Which farm? Well, check out This Is Spinal Tap for your answer (hint: it's a very naughty farm!). The BVK crew grabbed our instruments, packed our armadillos into our trousers, and gave more than just a two-word review of this Christopher Guest classic. 

MATT DAMON! Aside from slangin' dubious crypto opportunities, Matty D acts on the side. The BVK crew sat down to draft some his most memorable characters and then let self-proclaimed Damon expert, Nate, bust out some equations and shit to choose a winner. Spotlight is a movie that deals with mature themes of sexual abuse and rape, particularly of underage children. LISTENER DISCRETION IS ADVISED! The BVK crew welcomes a friend of the pod, Justin, to discuss this sobering movie. Justin shares his experiences as an altar boy at a church led by convicted pedophile Oliver O'Grady.

47 seasons of Saturday Night Live have created some amazing sketches throughout the years and some of those folks have gone on to star in some both legendary as well as total dogshit movies. Josh, from the Hoisting Heavys pod, is back and drafting along side the BVK crew as they try to impress judge Scotch Beck with some memorable films starring SNL alums.
