In our text for today Peter continues to encourage the suffering believers. Peter says two strange things in this text, "for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin." He also says, "The gospel was preached even to those who are dead." This should be fun, be prepared to think.

Well Israel is in the news again. And the prophecy pundits are all talking about the end of the world. They are also saying that we MUST stand with and support Israel because they are the people of God. Lord deliver us from Bible ignorance.

How often do you think of yourself as a servant? It seems that in our culture everyone wants to be the lord and master but nobody wants to be the servant. Yeshua says it is not supposed to be this way.

What does James mean by, "Can that faith save him?" Is he indicating that there are different kinds of faith? Are James and Paul in conflict with one another on how we receive salvation?
