The Yankees defeated the Nationals in two of three games to open up their 2020 season. It wasn't the prettiest series but it was enough to walk away feeling good.

The New York Knicks made a questionable move the other day, waiving a promising young prospect in Allonzo Trier. It has left a lot of fans confused but it was also a move that is not surprising if you've paid attention.

Baseball is coming back! It's going to be different but it's back.

Finally, some Yanks talk! It's been a long while since we've talked Yankees (for obvious reasons) so I thought I'd give a real update and talk about the state of the season and more!

After two years at Iowa State, Tyrese Haliburton is entering the NBA draft. The Knicks will likely have an opportunity to draft the point guard being that he isn't amongst the best prospects in the lottery. He's a safe pick who will probably be a very solid role player in the NBA.

Anthony Edwards, a combo guard from UGA, is an athletic specimen who could give the Knicks a boost in the backcourt. He's explosive at the rim and likes to shoot off the bounce. Some of Edwards' flaws seem major though. He struggles with his decision making offensively and needs to put in more effort defensively. Is he the best fit for the Knicks?

Cole Anthony is a combo guard from UNC who has elite shot creating abilities with some solid athleticism to go with it. His ceiling seems to be pretty high but some of his deficiencies concern a lot of folks.

Obi Toppin is a power forward from Dayton who really turned heads with an electric sophomore season. He would be an unorthodox pick for the Knicks, who are expected to look for a guard in the lottery, but Obi's also one of the more talented players in the draft. Go follow @mfacch23 on Twitter.

Deni Avdija is an interesting prospect to discuss. I feel as if he is a high floor guy as opposed to a player with a high ceiling. His ceiling seems to be as a high-end rotation role player who could really benefit the Knicks in terms of giving them their playmaker, but is he worth the pick so early?

Killian Hayes is a lead guard who has a knack for creating shots and thrives especially well in PnR. He has upside as both a shooter & defender too. The Knicks should seriously consider drafting Hayes if they are lucky enough to land in a good spot in the lottery, being that he would help them in many phases where they lack.

LaMelo Ball is the first solidified lottery prospect that I'm breaking down. Ball would bring an immediate improvement to a Knick backcourt lacking a playmaker of his caliber, but do the intriguing pros outweigh the concerning cons?

Redshirt prospect Elijah Hughes had a career year at Syracuse in his junior season, leading the ACC in points per game. The Knicks could benefit from his playmaking and shooting upside off the bench, but there is also some question that comes with Hughes.

FSU's Patrick Williams is an intriguing 18-year old prospect who the Knicks should take does he fall late into the first round. He's a combo forward with a lot of upside as a versatile two-way player.

Malachi Flynn is a San Diego State transfer who has a chance at being a decent backup PG for the Knicks. His lack of elite athleticism & size may hold him back some, but his smarts, defensive fundamentals, and passing ability all show enough upside to where I think he'll become a successful secondary playmaker in the NBA.

Markus Howard is a very high-risk/high-reward prospect in this year's draft, who's expected to fall late in the second round. He could bring the Knicks some scoring punch off the bench as a good shot creator, but will almost definitely hurt them defensively because of his tiny frame. Is he worth the risk?

Charleston's Grant Riller could be a potential sleeper prospect in this year's draft. He would help the Knicks address issues in both the playmaking & scoring department as an off-the-bounce scoring guard. The big knock on Riller was the level of competition he faced.

Tre Jones from Duke could be a credible reserve point guard for the Knicks if they decide to draft him. He brings great defense and an ability to run an offense effectively.

Argentinian combo forward Leandro Bolmaro would be a unique choice to use with their LAC pick in this year's draft. I don't think he is worth trading up for, but I would not mind taking the playmaker does he slip to the Knicks' spot late in the first.
