Senior Madison Letterman tells the story of her severe knee injury, suffered just before spring break, and how the coronavirus has delayed much-needed surgery to repair the damage.

Seniors at Hillcrest talk about the loss of pretty much everything they were looking forward to this spring. Then a specific group of seniors, drama students who had been rehearsing since January for the last show of the year, talk about the curtain that will never rise.

Hillcrest teacher Jessica Barnes talks to William about how she and others are preparing to resume school online next Monday. Then Jason Morrow, an HTV Hall of Famer from the class of 1996, checks in from his home near Orlando, FL with details about how the pandemic is being handled there.

On the day school was supposed to resume, William and a friend walk around his neighborhood, where it was eerily quiet on a warm spring day. Anna recommends streaming one of her favorite movies, with one of her favorite actresses, and during a mission to fetch dinner from a local restaurant for her family, Sophia talks about tempers running thin on social media.

First we hear from Holly Theriot, a former HTVer who has lived in Seattle since 2006. She talks about her community pulling together during the worst of times. Then on her first day back from her long trip with her family, Anna gets "artsy" with some help from the late Bob Ross. Finally, William talks to his mom, who compares the pandemic to post-9/11 in America.

A former Hillcrest broadcaster, Chandler Reed, answers William's questions about life in San Francisco right now, where they are sheltering in place. Then Anna's road trip winds through South Dakota, while Sophia faces the frustration of losing one job, and maybe another, due to the outbreak.

Episode 2: March 17, 2020: William reports from Seymour, MO, where it was the last day for schools there for a few weeks; Anna is traveling across Montana, and has some information on the availability of TP; Sophia, a senior, ponders schools in Kansas canceling the rest of the year, and what that would mean to her if it happens in Springfield.

Our three podcasters share what they are seeing and experiencing in this special Bay 11 series reported by Sophia Vaughn, Anna Daniel, and William Wehmer. Recording on their cell phones, this is first-hand reporting, with some teen perspectives included, as the world faces the coronavirus pandemic. More segments to follow in the days and weeks ahead.

For this Bay 11 "Extra," we have an interview with a college coach, Caira Dortch, who shares insight and advice for high school girls hoping to play at the college level. Dortch was a volleyball star at Hillcrest, then Arkansas University, before becoming head coach at Southwest Baptist University. She is interviewed by Broadcast I student Chloe Sutherland.
