Fifty years ago, eight girls at Central High School staged a protest for girls sports. They said what they were after was simply "a chance." Reporter Lauren Jackson has the story of the young rebels who got some press coverage for their efforts, and a few months later, they finally got their chance to play.

A Hillcrest senior, and a member of the HHS faculty share their weight loss journeys with reporter Natalie Arbuthnot. They found different ways to reach their goals, and in the end created better, healthier lives for themselves.

The month of February includes Valentine's Day, and that inspired Abi and Emily to highlight some favorite TV couples in love. They also talk about Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly and their romantic drama, which apparently has been exaggerated on the Inter-webs.

We flash back four years as we replay "Like a Moth to a Flame," one of our most popular segments ever, with honest talk about teens and the dangers of social media. Then our "First 30" segment with former HTVer Jessica Larson, who made the big move to Hollywood after college. Finally, the "Dig or Diss" discussion by the Bay 11 team was as usual, crazy but fun. 

It is a full menu of items this time as Abi and Emily review "That 90s Show," the Taylor/Sza non-drama drama, snow days, and are joined by a special guest from Central HS, who happens to be related to Emily, to talk KC Chiefs football. There is also (unfortunately) some discussion about the cutest NFL quarterbacks.

Kyle Flannigan guides bike tours that take him across the U.S. and Europe. He tells Lauren Jackson about the places he has seen, the people he has met along the way. As you will hear, this was not his first gig after college, but it continues to be a truly amazing ride.

Second semester stress is a thing, according to Abi and Emily, but they still found time to check out "Ginny and Georgia" on Netflix, and reflect on the closing of the Regal Theater in downtown Springfield. Also, Miley's latest.

A member of Springfield's homeless community talks to Lily Eisold about how he ended up on the street following the collapse of his business. Then basketball gets the spotlight as Holten Pyle talks to a legendary athlete who holds a long-standing individual record in the Show Me state.

Abi and Emily are off-the-wall stressing over finals. Come to hear their banter, but stay for talented HHS alum Brad Thomas (aka "Boo Rad") as he performs some Harry and some Biebs, and helps chill things out. 

Three Hillcrest ladies who were teens in the 1980s join Lily Eisold for a fun, far-ranging conversation about that crazy decade. We are talking big hair, MTV, land lines, AC/DC, Madonna, and going "over the hill." Tracy Hessee, Dennah Mallory and Ginger McCullough recall a special time in America, the decade they will never forget because they experienced it.

A discussion of the darkly fun Netflix series, "Wednesday," a rundown of the Ticketmaster mess, and oh yeah, Spotify Wrapped 2022 is pretty awesome. Emily and Abi are back at it.

Hillcrest drama students are in the Bay 11 spotlight this episode as Natalie Arbuthnot brings us behind-the-scenes sounds and reactions from "Radium Girls," as cast and crew pull together to put on a great show. Then we replay a favorite piece from Anna Daniel in 2019, when we first learned all about the Springfield Street Choir.

A contest prompt provided the theme of this podcast, as Lauren and Holten visit with two teens who recall very different, but very scary life events. Then Lily Eisold hosts a discussion about deciding on your future, with some help from two students plus HHS counselor Kara Davis.

Lily Eisold tells us about the Hillcrest teen who organized a 5K run to raise money for an inclusive playground for north side kids. There is a long way to go, but Emma Holdway seems up to the challenge. Then we revisit a fun segment from October of 2020 when reporter Becky Gardner asked folks to talk about the scary movie that gave them a big fright.

Holten Pyle talks baseball with two faculty members who have collected decades of memories playing and watching the game. Rich Dameron and Michael Niemoth reflect on the game of their youth, and the amazing feats accomplished by two sluggers in the 2022 season. They also give us their playoff predictions.

Our dynamic duo discusses some celebs who recently found breaking up with class is hard to do. They also speculate about Taylor Swift's highly-anticipated new album, and suggest a tried-and-true life hack for high school students. All that plus undying love for the Gilmore Girls on "Caffeinated."
