Bass Generator Records label and shop have been an institution since the scene’s beginning. The first release on the label was back in 1990, then in 1993 with the huge selling release “The Event” plus help from Scott Brown’s early releases (Lord of Hardcore/Genetik), Bass Generator Records was quickly established as a major influence throughout the rave scene, especially in Scotland. The label went on to release over 47 singles, distributed internationally, up to 1997.Bass Generator opened a store in Newcastle in 1993, then in Edinburgh in 1995, both of which no longer exist.
