Bandcamp Weekly

Celebrating five years of Bandcamp (and a shiny new app), we feature guest mixes from Seattle MC/production duo THEESatisfaction and eclectic Brazilian selector Rodrigo Brandao (Mais Um Discos). We also chat with Shigeto, and air tracks by Diggs Duke, Lord Echo, Jean Grae, Sufjan Stevens and Zoe Keating.

Featuring interviews and in-depth sneak peaks at new work from two adventurous musicians: singer and composer Son Lux, and also jazz-meets-techno producer Ian o'Brien. Plus fresh tunes from Om Unit, Lady, Jungle, Oval, Kelpe, Candy Says, Motion Picture Actress, and the Electric Peanut Butter Co.

In a 26-track packed show we sneak a peak at Da Lata's welcome Afro-Brazilian return, and play new tunes by Knxwledge, Ta-Ku, Zo, Black Milk, and Perera Elsewhere. Album of the week is by Son of Stan. We air an oldie from Robert Wyatt, indie rock from Palehound, and abstract soul by Jitwam and Hot Sugar.

Featuring new releases from THEESatisfaction, Oddisee, The Procussions, and Mishal Moore, plus MC, producer, graphic designer Ohmega Watts debuts tracks in an exclusive mix, and iamnobodi drops by to talk about our album of the week. New acts to look for include Equal, Bloom, Nekochan, and Panama.

Elephant, Black Milk (with Dwele and Robert Glasper), Djinji Brown, Teen Daze, and Cuushe add bright electronics, jazz, and soul before Fulgeance (aka Souleance) drops Words of Wisdom. Dom La Nena, Milosh, and Peder bring an acoustic vibe to round out the second half of the show.

The 25th show features music by Quantic and Shigeto, plus tunes from the supremely anonymous Jungle. Emanative teams up with Earl Zinger, our album of the week is by Berlin-based Kyson, NY trio Archie Pelago speak Words of Wisdom, plus there's dub, classic Chicago house, and even a funky brass band.

Premiering tracks from Georgia Anne Muldrow's Jyoti album, plus brand new music by Tiny Hearts, and London based Midnight Davis. Dynasty teams up with Talib Kweli, and Klaus Layer with Blu and Scienze. Bosq colors the Words of Wisdom tropical, and Irresistible Force drops a signature remix.

Album of the week from Lonnie Holley casts a cosmic spell over the rest of the track list including hip hop by Stainless Steele, electronics by Bad Bandit and Mountain Range, jazz by Dawn of Midi, and psyche rock from Sugar Candy Mountain. Lucho Neves plays mambo, Piers Faccini talks Words of Wisdom.

Jam-packed show with debuts from Kishi Bashi and Kyson, words of wisdom from Hello Skinny, a new Richard Dorfmeister remix, tropical sounds by Bosq and Siji, electronic soul from Motion Picture Actress, beats out of Germany and Russia, and fuzzy indie rock from Paris, Auckland, and Oklahoma City.

This week's selection includes twisted beats from California, London, and France, guilty pleasure pop from Alicia Eris, album of the week by Devon Who, the indie-stylings of Holy Ghost Party and These Animals, previously unreleased Robert Wyatt, jazz by Archie Pelago, and Ladi6 with the Words of Wisdom.

Bandcamps Ethan Diamond fills in for Andrew Jervis this week and brings some of his personal favorites from the site, including deep French and Norwegian hip hop, long-lost Canadian funk, thumping Israeli electronica, and just enough face-melting hardcore and punk to get your head right.

Filling in for Andrew Jervis with their own local flavors are John Bailey and Ennio Styles of 3RRR FM in Melbourne, plus Dawson Ludwig from San Francisco's Noise Pop, and Londoner Laurent Fintoni of FACT Magazine and Original Cultures. Free The Robots drops by with the Words of Wisdom.

Our Album of the Week is by the Superhumanoids, and we have first listens of Chicano Batman and Da Lata. Watch out for new acts WNR, Acapoco, and Basecamp, and hip hop from Phony Ppl and ProbCause with Diggs Duke. Sango speaks Words of Wisdom, and Felipe Arcazas gets psychedelic.

On this weeks show Barbarossa guests in the Words of Wisdom segment, and our album of the week is by Denitia and Sene. We air soulful new singles by Harleighblu, Lea Lea, and Part Panda, folksy punk from Twin Steps, electronic pop by Talk In Color, and afrobeat by The Cactus Channel.
