Baconsale

We wanna be the very best and understand Pokémon, which is why we've invited Collin Willams, the Poké Professor onto our show -- and it's super effective! Collin begins at the basics of Pokémon (for Joel's sake), and then talks about how it went from a simple role-playing video game about pocket monsters to the augmented reality mobile app and worldwide phenomenon it has become. Along the way, we...

The power of Patty compels you to listen to this podcast! Kent, Joel and Jacob must be chauvinist, misogynist sexists because, in this episode, they dare to objectively question whether the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters is a good film or not. However, this is so much more than a simple movie review. In fact, we spend the first half of this episode talking about the controversy surrounding this remak...

Hold on to your butts, The Listener! Since Steven Spielberg is, without a doubt, one of the top ten film directors of all time, Kent and Joel have decided to each make a list of their top ten Spielberg movies. This means something. This is important. And lest you think we're gonna need a bigger podcast, we actually manage to get through both of our lists during one episode. Plus, we even throw in...

We think it's time to say goodbye to Prince Abubu...er, our Tournament of Disney villains as we wrap up our bracket of bad guys. Name's Baconsale, Lord of the Dead. Hi, how ya doin'?  Now look, we tried to finish our Disney Villain tournament this episode, but certain battles took longer than others for some. odd reason. So Kent and Joel were only able to get through one more round of the bracket And if that doesn't scare you, no evil thing will. Nevertheless, you're sure to be entertained with such epic match-ups as Hades...

Since Independence Day was deemed the most "America!" movie of all time (by Joel), it's his fault that Baconsale had to see the sequel. What? Two BaconBits in two weeks? Yes, you're that lucky! Cowabunga, dudes!  Much like Michael Bay giving us a reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that we didn't ask for, we're giving you a review of this TMNT sequel that you didn't ask for! Haven't seen the movie? No problem! In fact, some members of Baconsale would prefer you DIDN'T see this movie. Anyway, the first 10 minutes of this BaconBit are spoiler free. After that, Kent and Joel are going to...

Let's go, bub! It's time for Baconsale to rank all eight of the X-Men films. However, it seems that Kent's and Joel's mutant ability is to disagree on which movie belongs where on their ranking charts. Joel angers Kent, Kent betrays Joel and Jacob just sits there and laughs at the two of them -- just like the supervillain he is. We also briefly review X-Men: Apocalypse. Don't worry, it's a spoiler...

We also talk about the few hidden treasures in the vast wasteland of video game movies. They're not good movies, per se, but at least they d...

Our favorite clinical psychologist, Dr. Matt Woolley, is back! And this time Baconsale is talking to this educated man with a Ph. D. about our culture's current obsession with comic books and superhero movies. Well, Kent and Joel do most of the talking. Jacob is nursing a sore mouth, so he remains largely silent. So press play and find out which graphic novels Dr. Matt likes, why DC fanboys hate M...

You know it's hard out there for a critic. In this episode of Baconsale, Kent, Joel and Jacob discuss contemporary film criticism and its effect on modern society's opinion regarding media arts.  Wow! That sounded really grown up and boring. Let's try that again: In this episode, Kent spends the whole time talking about himself and bashing on Rotten Tomatoes while Joel makes fun of him for it. The...
