79 - Staring Down the VAR-rel? 23.02.2020

Cherries lost 3-0 away to Burnley on Saturday in a match riddled with yet more ineptness from the Premier League. Whilst relegation might spell doom for most AFCB fans, to others there's a growing solace that should the worst happen, at least we'll be competing in a league where there's an iota of consistency. Alas, there's a long way to go, Bournemouth can still survive, and lets not take the cre...

78 - Grim Oop North 09.02.2020

On Sunday, Cherries travelled to Bramall Lane in another must win encounter but sadly emerged losing 2-1 after Sheffield United gave us a lesson in doggedness and determination. Conditions were awful throughout the country, and to many people's surprise - the game still went ahead. However, whilst the weather settled, the AFC Bournemouth side didn't, and, despite a good early start, the Blades des...

77 - A Team Talk To Inspire And Boscombe On Fire 02.02.2020

Cherries are looking something like the side we know and love after two wins on the spin, with the latest victory coming at the expense of Aston Villa. On the eve of the match, Cherries supporter Dan Hall was invited in by Fletch and Eddie to talk to the players and deliver a speech which would inspire and encourage. Needless to say, it worked... In this podcast we speak to Dan, and find out the i...

76 - A Learning Curve 28.01.2020

Cherries went down 2-1 at home to Arsenal in the Cup on Monday night, evidently with half an eye on the more substantial "cup tie" at the weekend against Aston Villa in the Premier League. Six changes were made and it was a below par AFC Bournemouth who somehow flattered themselves by producing a scoreline which, to the naked eye, suggests the contest was closer than it was. Eddie will see the two...

75 - A Rallying Cry 20.01.2020

Each and every game that goes past, the need for a performance and togetherness becomes more imperative. Against Brighton on Tuesday, we will be seeing a pivotal match in our Premier League history, one which might potentially have reverberations in more ways than we expect. It is must win - end of. In this podcast, Sam Davis is joined by Jeff Hayward as we analyse the weekend's embarrassment at C...

74 - Flags-A-Plenty But Running On Empty 13.01.2020

In order to improve the atmosphere at Dean Court, AFC Bournemouth put out 5000 flags in order to inspire the home supporters to cheer the lads towards three points, however, the team that appeared in red and black on Sunday looked anything but inspired in an insipid performance which left the majority speechless. On Sunday the misery continued for Eddie Howe’s men as AFC Bournemouth lost 0-3 at ho...

73 - All the Twenties 06.01.2020

As we enter 2020, having scored 20 goals, Cherries sit in the Premier League's relegation zone on 20 points - and after a poor showing against West Ham at the London Stadium, Bournemouth fans were looking for something to cheer about as we welcomed Luton Town to the Vitality Stadium in an FA Cup Third Round tie. Thankfully, after the 4-0 drubbing at the hands of the Iron, the scoreline at Dean Cou...

72 - Decent Decade But Cherries Fade 30.12.2019

What an incredible decade it has been for AFC Bournemouth. This time ten years ago we were entertaining Torquay at Dean Court, with Pitman and Feeney on the scoresheet - and oh how we'd have loved to have that attacking prowess on Saturday, as Cherries got shat on by the Seagulls, in a 2-0 win for Brighton - a scoreline which really mattered, yet barely flattered. It was another horror show that d...

71 - Burnley Bingo? Completed It Mate! 23.12.2019

Clarets fans were gleefully posting their bingo cards on Saturday evening after their 1-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court, as Cherries fans echoed the (apparently) much used Burnley-isms such as anti-football, long ball, dirty tactics and many more - completing a full-house, with the Lancashire side going home happy after their (probably deserved) narrow victory. Clarets fans were gleef...

70 - Jingle All The Way 15.12.2019

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way - oh what fun it is to see the Bournemouth win away! Cherries at the weekend astonished the naysaying media, the bookies, and even their own supporters - with a phenomenal performance at Stamford Bridge emerging 1-0 victors against Chelsea, and in this podcast, Jeff Hayward and Sam Davis dissect the game with some analysis and opinion. There were many...

69 - A Team Full Of Lermas 08.12.2019

Whilst it was a Saturday of misfortune for AFC Bournemouth aginst Liverpool, there was one player who was head and shoulders above the rest for the Cherries, with Jefferson Lerma shining bright in a performance which will have won him many plaudits. Sadly, the greatness of our Colombian Number 8 was overshadowed by a poor 3-0 home scoreline in a game which often looked like men against boys. Simil...

68 - Right Tune But Wrong Notes 02.12.2019

With Eddie Howe recently revealing to the Guardian that he is learning to play the piano, just like the Cherries campaign this season, he’ll not wanting to be hitting any bum notes. On Saturday though, Bournemouth were more flat than sharp, as we succumbed to a trio of goals from the on-song Spurs - their frontmen being instrumental in striking the right chord to ensure their fans marched home wit...

67 - Dropping Like A Stone 24.11.2019

Cherries poor form continued on Saturday in a frustratingly predictable performance against Wolves which saw us go down to ten men and concede two sloppy goals in the first half. A fightback gave us some hope in the second 45, however it ended 2-1 to the away side - a scoreline which ultimately flattered us, and sees Cherries continue to drop down the table like a stone. In this podcast Sam Davis...

66 - A Game Of Three Thirds 10.11.2019

AFC Bournemouth's topsy-turvy campaign continued at the weekend in a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle, a match which saw the good, the bad and the ugly - a microchasm of our season in just ninety minutes. There was thirty minutes of attacking flair, a half hour of individual errors and catastrophic defending, and then a remaining third where we simply could not penetrate the rigid and disciplined defence o...

65 - A Glint Of Menace 03.11.2019

As Cherries fans celebrated a 1-0 win over Manchester United, supporters seemed jubilant at seeing the return of a menacing Josh King and Ryan Fraser, who, whilst not perfect, looked like they are getting back to the levels we have come to expect. As Cherries fans celebrated a 1-0 win over Manchester United, supporters seemed jubilant at seeing the return of a menacing Josh King and Ryan Fraser, w...

64 - Woulda Shoulda Coulda 27.10.2019

It was yet again another missed opportunity to prove ourselves as being “improved on last season”, but with draws against bottom of the league Watford and newly-promoted Norwich, was it simply a case of a deflating weekend being masked by a false league position? In this week's show, we go over the drab draw at Vicarage Road, with seasoned-Cherry Neil Dawson joining Sam Davis to make sense of the...

63 - Are We As Good As We Think We Are? 20.10.2019

In this pod, we analyse the snore draw at home against the Canaries, with Jeff Hayward joining Sam Davis to make sense of the lifeless encounter which was rightfully last on Match of the Day. We hear your thoughts after the game, and bring you some of the opinions that were also submitted during the day on Youtube too! Also, next Saturday, we travel up to Vicarage Road to play Watford, so we previ...

62 - Eddie Had A Dream 13.10.2019

In this week's episode, Sam chats to Peter Bell, Cherry Chimes author, who is releasing a book called "Eddie Had A Dream", focusing on the man himself, where you can start to understand some of the reasons behind the remarkable ascent of AFC Bournemouth up the football pyramid. Just search on Amazon for instant download. In the show, we bring back some amazing memories of Eddie and our Premier Lea...

61 - A Game of Two Halves 07.10.2019

It might be considered a lazy narrative, but nothing seems more appropriate to describe Cherries trip to the Emirates against Arsenal on Sunday, as Bournemouth fans were treated to two very different 45 minute periods. In a match short of quality, the Gunners emerged with all three points as a David Luiz header separated the sides in a frustrating affair in North London. This week, Sam Davis is fl...

60 - Deflated with a Desmond 29.09.2019

It was Desmond 2-2 at Dean Court where AFC Bournemouth succumbed to an impressive West Ham United to claim a deserved yet frustrating point. This week Jeff Hayward and Sam Davisetake us through the analysis of Saturday's performanced against the Iron as Bournemouth ended up drawing 2-2 in a contest that was ultimately decided by VAR. A Josh King goal which was disallowed then allowed, a Nathan Ake...

59 - The South Coast Is Ours 23.09.2019

The away side claimed all three points courtesy of a Nathan Ake header, a Harry Wilson left footed effort, and then an open goal for Callum Wilson as he captialised on a Saints defensive calamity. In this podcast, Sam Davis and Jeff Hayward review the match, plus we get your opinion on the game - with some audio submitted right after the final whistle outside the ground, as well as other clips com...

58 - Cookie Acceptance 16.09.2019

Cherries fans greeted the return of Lewis with open arms as Bournemouth beat Everton 3-1 at the Vitality Stadium. This week Jeff Hayward and Michael Dunne take us through the analysis of Sunday's televised performanced against the Toffees as Bournemouth ended up 3-1 victors in a contest that was ultimately decided after the introduction of Ryan Fraser. We hear your thoughts after the game, and bri...

57 - VAR, Vardy... And Feeling Mardy 01.09.2019

Cherries went down 3-1 to Leicester City at the weekend in a controversial match which should have seen the home side down to 10 men. In a very inconsistent refereeing performance , the officials decided that a Youri Tielemans's challenge on Callum Wilson should not be awarded with a red card, despite the fact the England striker nearly had his ankle snapped in half. In today's episode, Jeff and S...

56 - Wilson! Wowee! 26.08.2019

BBC Radio Solent commentator Kris Temple provides the title for this episode, as he describes Harry Wilson's wonder-goal in Cherries 3-1 loss to Manchester City on Sunday. In this week's offering, Jeff Hayward and Michael Dunne dissect the loss to the Citizens, discussing formations, free-kicks and foolish refereeing decisions! We also gauge the opinion of the fans, who kindly submitted their thou...

55 - Three Points, Beers on the Train, Happy Days! 18.08.2019

Bournemouth beat Aston Villa 2-1 at the weekend with goals from Josh King and Harry Wilson, and in the latest installment of the podcast, we talk to a number of Cherries fans, hear the views of Jeff and Sam, plus get the lowdown ahead of our encounter with Manchester City weekend. One of our Youtube Channel contributors Andy was more than delighted with his performance, by exclaiming that he was c...
