130 - Boscombe Shock As Blackpool Rock 23.08.2021 45:40
Despite a mesmeric first half against our Seaside rivals on Saturday, Bournemouth were made to pay for a lacklustre second 45 as Blackpool clawed a draw from the jaws of defeat in a three minute spell which saw them take advantage of two moments of poor defending. In this podcast, Sam Davis speaks to Tom Jordan as they dissect the full game at Dean Court - how are they feeling? What's the immediat...
129 - Tricky Trees Felled 16.08.2021 56:51
Sam Davis is joined by Tom Jordan and Neil Dawson as they dissect Saturday's encounter at the City Ground in Nottingham where the Cherries overcame Forest in a tense 2-1 victory. AFC Bournemouth sported the green kit and left the Tricky Trees in trouble as ten-man Cherries ground out the win to secure our first win of the season thanks to strikes either side of the half from Brooks and Billing! Th...
128 - Bagging A Draw 09.08.2021 1:14:13
The 2021/22 season started at home, with all of the world able to watch our curtain-raiser against West Brom, a match which obviously Sky thought could be tasty - two sides with new managers, two sides with different reasons for being exasperated at the end of last season, plus, with both teams driven and determined as ever to get back to the big time - what could be better? In this podcast Sam Da...
127 - The Benefit of Hindsight 10.06.2021 59:04
This week, Kris Temple from BBC Radio Solent released a chat with Bournemouth Chairman Jeff Mostyn, the first time he has chatted at length for four years. Mostyn sounded re-energised, he sounded motivated, and he didn’t sound fearful about the club’s future. Some fans are still asking questions, yet some are content - and in this podcast, we chat over what we learned from the Chairman’s chat in t...
126 - Play-Off Post-Mortem 24.05.2021 1:14:04
So then, another season in the Championship! Last season, we were disappointed with being relegated from the Premier League, but we were perversely excited to experience the Nottingham Forest away, trips to antiquated but brilliant stadiums like Kenilworth Road, London away days on the train, mammoth northern trips, and even booze-fuelled trips across the Severn Bridge - and of course, no VAR. Did...
125 - Squeaky Bum Time 19.05.2021 58:17
It was very much a nerve jangling time at Dean Court on Monday, but the win against Brentford showed a lot of desire, a lot of discipline, and even at times a little bit of swagger - so with the hoodoo against Brentford broken, will it stay broken? Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, Tom, Jordan and Neil Dawson discuss events at Dean Court. We of course are all hoping that it is not a false dawn, as there is...
124 - Are We "Derren Brown-ing" Them? 09.05.2021 1:00:55
AFC Bournemouth limped over the finish line against Stoke City in a display which has single-handedly managed to erode any optimism ahead of a Play-Off Semi-Final against an in-form Brentford. On this show, Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, Mr Tigz and Neil Dawson dissect the game with vigour and determination - well, *someone* had to put in a shift this weekend. Last week after Wycombe, Woodgate was almos...
123 - Am I Bovvered 02.05.2021 55:59
As Catherine Tate once said: "Am I Bovvered?", and reading between the lines, that was the message that was gleaned from most of the post-match Cherry soundbytes - so despite our 1-0 loss at Wycombe on Saturday, the feeling of concern from the fans perhaps isn't quite empathised by the staff of AFC Bournemouth! It was a turgid showing - a much-changed side, which gave the Chairboys the impetus to...
122 - Turn It Off And Turn It On Again 26.04.2021 59:24
After Bournemouth's magnificent seven wins in a row, Brentford were the visitors to Dean Court on Saturday, and whilst Cherries were After Eight, it was the 10-man away side that were mint - with a display of resilience that will be morale boosting and confidence inspiring. For Cherries, it enables us to reset - the equivalent of turning it off and turning it on again - so maybe this loss might ju...
121 - The Joy of Six 18.04.2021 59:33
The last time AFC Bournemouth won six in a row, we were promoted to the Premier League. Can we?! Well, the Cherries came away from Carrow Road with a 3-1 victory against Norwich City in a match which saw a number of talking points - one of which was a sending off for the home side, a decision which had a select number of Canaries fans up in arms. Numerical advantage aside, despite a poor early 15...
120 - Ecstatic With Danjumagic 11.04.2021 1:04:05
A chance to dissect the weekend's match at Dean Court where AFC Bournemouth managed to dispose of Coventry City 4-1. It was a frenetic start with two early goals, but then it became a familiar affair where the Cherries were spurning golden opportunities in front of goal – but at least we are creating them - which suggests that a corner definitely has been turned! Thankfully Danjuma was the man aga...
119 - Easter Egg-stravaganza 05.04.2021 58:46
Cherries are honing in on the Play-Offs after two Easter wins, starting off with a 3-1 victory against Middlesbrough at Dean Court - a win that, whilst it saw no change of league position, leaves us on the coat-tails of Reading and Barnsley - who played out a 1-1 draw later that afternoon It was a game of three thirds at Dean Court, where Bournemouth started well before morphing into the formulaic...
118 - Managed Debt And Cup Regret 29.03.2021 1:10:17
Cherries posted a £60m+ loss for the last financial year in some jaw-dropping figures that were released this morning. AFC Bournemouth also posted confirmation that its owner is in to the club to the tune of £160m - a concerning backdrop off the pitch to what has been a fruitless season on it. The cost of Covid has hit hard, but whilst the numbers are fairly similar to other Premier League clubs a...
117 - We Will Not Be Seduced! 15.03.2021 1:02:58
Whilst isolated moments throughout the game might have given rise to rose-tinted optimism from some pundits, many Cherries fans will simply not be seduced by these infrequent passages of play. After yet another 3-2 home defeat, this time to Barnsley, Sam Davis, Tom Jordan, Mr Tigz and Jeff Hayward come together for a cathartic look back at yesterday's match - one which Barnsley fully deserved to w...
116 - Cruising and Complacent 08.03.2021 1:02:12
Cherries dropped two points at Deepdale on Saturday against an unpredictable Preston North End side in a match which was the archetypal game of two halves. It was a familiar tale of missed chances followed by punishment for our defensive mistakes. The single point leaves Bournemouth 7th in league, outside the play-offs, sitting behind Barnsley, a team who have got one game in hand on us - it's not...
115 - Harried Hornets Lump on Lerma 01.03.2021 1:09:35
Cherries were in free-fall, without a solid performance in a number of games, so a 1-0 win against high-flying Watford ensured that Boscombe fans actually have some hope for the remainder of the season. Whilst Danjuma provided the difference, big Jeff stole the show with a display of gamesmanship that represented that league we've just been relegated from. A solitary Arnaut goal was the difference...
114 - Trust The Process? 22.02.2021 1:05:17
World class candidates, an external appointment, exciting CV's - the future is bright - trust the process! The process? Under Eddie, we had a process - and that process was - "Howe will carry us through". Now though, at an Eddie-less AFCB, manager-less Cherries this weekend seemingly made a mockery of the "process" of interviewing - with yet another internal appointment. Nothing against Woodgate,...
Eddie Mitchell – My Tenure As AFC Bournemouth Chairman 19.02.2021 1:32:01
Being a Cherries fan is never dull, and it certainly wasn’t whilst this person was at the helm of the club. If you wanted a person who could help put the area on the map, this person was your man! Eddie Mitchell was AFC Bournemouth Chairman for just over four years. He arrived with winding up petitions to deal with, and left the club by selling his stake to an owner that provided the financial mus...
John Bailey – The Clique Of Players He Simply Couldn’t Stand 19.02.2021 1:11:31
We’re joined by yet another character in the Cherries calvary by the way of combative midfielder John Bailey - a player that wore his heart on his sleeve, playing 137 games for Boscombe, spanning five season, scoring 13 goals (some of them in friendlies, admittedly), one of which was in the most famous football stadium in the world. He was tough, he got rough, but his tenacity encapsulated the nev...
113 - A Saturday Snooze 14.02.2021 1:00:05
This weekend Cherries travelled to Nottingham to face Forest in a clash against an in-form Hughton side that has been difficult to beat of late - amassing 13 points from their last 18. So with Boscombe arriving in confidence after our Burnley FA Cup exploits, it looked set to be an absorbing affair - in reality, it was anything but. In this podcast, we get raw full-time opinions from Bournemouth f...
112 - Defensive Holes But Back In The Goals 08.02.2021 1:09:25
What a season we're having. Jason Tindall departed the club in the week after a poor run of results for the Cherries. Whilst we had games that some Cherries fans could attend, the majority of us will be returning to a vastly different club - no Eddie, no Jason. It's sad we haven't had the chance to say goodbye to some incredible servants. Despite the risk not working, Jason is still one of them -...
111 - A Brutal Reality Check 31.01.2021 1:00:00
Cherries are sitting sixth in the Championship, but after a series of horrendous performances, the brutal reality is that we are dropping like a stone - unless that is, the team starts to apply themselves. In this pod there is an extended chat about what is going on at AFC Bournemouth after that 3-1 loss to Reading on Friday night with Mr Tigz, Neil Dawson, Jeff Hayward and Tom Jordan. ◽️ What do...
Shaun Teale – The Most Centre-Half Looking Centre-Half 24.01.2021 1:21:42
Shaun Teale is a player who many of us idolised for the two and a half seasons that he was with us. Moving from non-league, he made 62 appearances for the Cherries between 1989 and 1992 before joining Aston Villa for £350,000 where he formed an outstanding partnership with Irish international, Paul McGrath. He’s a player who’s been described as "the most centre-half looking centre-half who ever li...
110 - Cherries Asunder After Referee Blunder 18.01.2021 59:40
Bournemouth made hard work of the beautiful game against yet another team in the bottom half of the table on Saturday as Luton Town emerged 1-0 winners at Dean Court in a deserved victory where Cherries simply did not do enough. Despite sporadic moments of near-joy, Cherries look disjointed and asunder - a far cry from the Championship winning side of 6/7 years ago. If we're thinking promotion, we...
Matt Tubbs and Josh McQuoid – Our Good (And Bad) Influences! 11.01.2021 1:08:24
Bournemouth has always been a club that has been associated with fast free-flowing football, and as a result of that, we have witnessed plenty of incredible goals over the years from an array of strikers, and on this show - we have a couple of guests that have lots of experience of hitting the back of the net for both Bournemouth and their other respective clubs. They were both born in the South,...
