From the very first chapter of the Bible, the number seven represents completion or spiritual perfection. As Awaken celebrates its 7th birthday, we learn that we are complete in Christ and yet incomplete in the work He wants to do in and through us!

If we want God to change us, it will require listening to, understanding, rejoicing in, and obeying God’s Word. After all, the Word of God is always at the forefront of a move of God.

The book of Nehemiah is not actually about people rebuilding walls; it’s about God rebuilding people. Sometimes we need to zoom out to get the bigger picture on what God is doing in and all around us.

The enemy’s ever-shifting strategy should keep us on guard, in prayer, and hard at work. He’s on the prowl and not backing down. Don’t be fearful; be faithful. He is ever-changing, but our God is never-changing.

Although Nehemiah 3 may seem to be a boring chapter with a bunch of hard-to-pronounce names, don’t skip it! Surprisingly, it may be one of the most practical passages about how God uses us as we faithfully serve next to and after one another.

After months of prayer, planning, and preparation, Nehemiah casts the vision for the task at hand, and God’s people rise up in obedience and unity. With God leading the way, we are guaranteed the victory, despite the opposition!
