Life is filled with uncertainty and trial. We all know this all too well. But, we do not have to fear when the storm crashes in. When the earth beneath our feet gives way, there is still a foundation that is sure, stead, and a very present help. Psalm 46

We hate being judged. But honestly, we all judge. We all believe in a right or wrong. There must be an ultimate law giver and judge then. God is that Judge. And this is necessary, and good.

“Trust is the oxygen of relationship.” And trust is built and kept on the firm foundation of faithfulness. Is God faithful? Can we trust Him? The good news is that God is always faithful. We can lean on Him all the time!

God is love. He is a God of abundant steadfast love. But what does that even mean? We see that God is, and always has been, a God of enduring, generous love, that is rooted in His faithfulness.

The Bible seems to contradict itself sometimes in verses that very clearly state that God is for His glory, for Himself, but then also verses that say God is for us. If God is love, can He really be for Himself? Isn’t that selfish, and thus not loving?

God is good. This is crucial to know, because this belief lets us trust all that God does as good. But how do we know God is good? It is most clearly seen in that truth that He is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

A lot of times we quickly dismiss the topic of the Trinity as something we’ll never figure out or some strange theological topic out there, but when we do that we miss out on the fact that there’s truly no other God like Him and how we can intimately know Him as Father in our lives.

Names have meaning. Well, most names. But historically, and in the Bible definitely, names have meaning. They describe the character of a person, who someone is. As God reveals Himself, He gives Moses, and us, the name YAHWEH. What does God’s name mean? What can we learn about God from His name?

As people, every choice we make is one we believe is the best option. We choose what we think is better. For Moses and Saul, they had everything the world could offer, and yet they chose to know God, believing His presence to be the better option.

We claim to know God based on His Words, the Bible. We believe that the Bible tells us the way of life and are the full, authoritative words of God. But can we really trust the Bible? Is it really reliable? We believe history and study says Yes.

We live in a broken world, as broken people. There is hope in Jesus for sure. But until He returns, we will continue to endure struggles and hardships. What do we do? How do we handle tragedy, hurts, injustice? The Bible encourages us to candidly and honestly pour our hearts out to God, asking for His help, and trusting Him in His response. This is called lament, and this is how we move towards Go...

There are a lot of definitions of worship. Many are great but how does Jesus define worship?  How does it apply to our lives today?

The Bible has strong language for the battles we face and the war we are in with battling sin and our enemy. Especially when it comes to our minds. It’s not enough to simply ignore the lies that come in or to try to stop thinking about them, but we have to respond to lies with the truth from God’s Word. We must continue to renew our minds and discern what is the will of God, what is good and accep...

There is a problem in our world. And it lies within each of us. Pride. Preferring self over another. The answer to fighting racial injustice, gender inequality, and classism begins in recognizing our underlying, sinful pride, which runs deep in each of us, and in being transformed by the humble love of Jesus.

Paul lived his life in a manner worthy of the Gospel. The way he lived reflected the way of Jesus. Why did he live that way? Grace. God’s grace compelled him to live his life for Jesus. What about you? Acts 26

We have to roll with the punches when the gigabots attack. Galatians 2:20

What do you want to be said of you when you’re gone? How do you hope your life will be defined? For Paul, his one desire was to live a life of faithful surrender. This is a life worth living! Acts 20

There comes a point where in order to grab on to something better, we have to let go of what we are currently holding on to. For those in Ephesus, they could hold on to religion, or wealth, or they could let go and hold on to the Giver of Life, Jesus. The same question is for us today. The result is the same as well - Jesus is better! Acts 19

We all are religious, in that we are all worshippers of what we think is most important. But what if we are worshipping the wrong thing? What if our devotion and affection is set on the wrong end? That is what was happening in Athens as Paul passed through. Thankfully, he got the opportunity to tell them about the God he knew and the life to be found in Him. Acts 17

Continuing our series on Acts, the Gospel is spreading all the way through Europe and three different people get rescued in the process, showing that salvation is available for all people and everyone’s included at Jesus’ table. Acts 16

We all feel hopeless at times. It’s an effect of the broken world we live in. But there is hope today. A Living Hope. A certain and sure promise that will never fail. Jesus is alive, and thus our hope is alive. May we turn to Him, and fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

Division destroys. When there is dissension in a relationship, it dishonors God, is destructive to those in the relationship, and is repulsive to those outside. In Acts 15 the church almost divided, broke apart. But thanks be to God that the grace of Jesus won out!

Persecution is forcing the church outward. As Some Of Them moved to Antioch, they faithfully spoke of Jesus to those in the city, and the hand of God moved to start a church. These were everyday people, just moving cities, and taking the hope of Jesus with them! We can be Some Of Them too! Acts 11

One of the worst feelings is being excluded, on the outside looking in. And for generations, this was the case for anyone who was not a Jew. Until Acts 10. When God made clear in dramatic fashion that He shows no partiality, but anyone and everyone is invited to the table through faith in Jesus. Acts 10

While the church is growing, so is the intense persecution against Christians, led by the murder breathing Saul. There must have been a sense of helplessness. But where things seem impossible to us, nothing is impossible with God. Acts 9:1-31
