Paul brings a strong conclusion to both of his letters to the Thessalonians. In these conclusions he’s showing how we are to live our faith out until Christ returns. We have a purpose in the present and that purpose is to live for the Kingdom of God.

Paul continues in his letters to the Thessalonians to encourage his listeners around the return of Christ. Christ will return. We don't know when but we know he will. Until then we stand on the truth of God, reflect the values of his Kingdom and invite others to know Christ.

Pastor Javin and Chuck dive deeper into his message that he spoke as our guest speaker. They discuss more about hearing from God, knowing when it's God directing us, self-control, Bible study tactics, tornadoes in Oklahoma among other things.

Paul begins to explain to the Thessalonians what death looks like when we are in Christ. When you look over the scope of much of Paul’s writings he reiterates these lessons. Paul wants his listeners to know that death is not something we have to fear as followers of Christ and grief does not rob us of hope.

This Sunday we had a special guest, Pastor Chuck Barrineau. Chuck is a friend of Pastor Javin's and he leads a church out in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Chuck has been preaching since he was 15 years old and is married with 3 kids. In this message, Chuck spoke vulnerably about how God had to help him in recent years through something that is probably very relatable for many of us.

Paul told the church in Thessalonica that he was encouraged how they received the words they spoke as the word of God in the power of the Holy Spirit. Let us be a church, let us be followers of Christ, that live our lives standing firm in the truth of the word and living in the power of His Spirit.

Being a part of the church is about being a part of a body, a community. This goes for our family as well. We need one another for encouragement and comfort. We need others to speak into our families life, pray for us and help us grow in the word. As the old saying goes - it takes a village.

in the first two chapters of 1 Thessalonians, Paul encourages followers of Christ to set an example for the Kingdom of God regardless of what we go through. We have a hope that’s rescued us and that’s worth living for.

We all have to be aware of our spiritual enemy. Men, that enemy wants to attack you and those you love. We need to be aware of his tactics, and ready to stand firm in our faith knowing that we are fully capable to do what God has called us to do and protect what God has called us to protect.

In this message we go back to the beginning of God’s creation to see the purpose for which God created man. We’ll also see through Jesus’ temptations in the wilderness the way in which our spiritual enemy wants to attack these purposes. God has created men with a work to serve in, a will and a way to lead the way in obeying and following, and someone to love and partner with for his purposes.

When you look at Genesis 1:27 and Jesus’ words from Matthew 19:4 you see that God has a specific design for sexuality and lifelong intimate relationships. His natural order is between one man and one woman in a covenant relationship of marriage.

Early Scripture declares, and Jesus echoed, that God created us male and female. There’s two different ways that God can make us and that way is determined by Him, not by us. God designed us and made us the way we are on purpose and for a purpose.
