Karissa Bettendorf is an artist / illustrator who has published a new children’s book called Everybody’s Baby. Talking about her work and the experiences of publishing books, she shares how her art relates to her life and well wishes for humanity.

This Omaha artist is new to the art career field and ready to share her work and ideas. With experiences throughout her childhood education, she is moving into college level study and loves animal and nature related theme pottery. Lily is a good inspiration to any newcomer to the the art career.

Bellevue artist and art educator Paula Yoachim paints surrealist subjects with an emphasis on Victorian architecture and everyday life experiences. She was raised in Nebraska with parents that supported her love of art, being an artist, and studied art in college turning into a lifelong career of art.

Noyes Art Gallery is excited to host a special exhibition of artist’s interpretations of the State Capitol Building in July-August 2020 at the State Office Building in Lincoln. Thirty two artists from Noyes Art Gallery will share their view of Nebraska’s State Capitol.

Pottery artist is her new career at 65. From Nebraska and now living in Wisconsin and working in her home studio, Irene shares her passion and process using moist red clay and glazes to create soft natural forms inspired by Nebraska prairie.

From South Dakota, Elly visits about using oil, acrylic, and watercolor to capture her passion of everyday and fantasy environments that are moments in time.

Shailee Curin is a watercolor artist who paints animal portraits using a representational and surrealistic style. Some of her portraits in her new series called “Visions of Home” include endangered species portraits with habitat landscape added in a double exposure effect.

Sara McNeily Ammon is a paper artist creating intricate knife cuttings. She presents her work as a paper cutting in a shadow box or uses the cuttings in mono printing works layered with abstract application of acrylic.

Melody Scott is an Omaha sculptor working in steel. Learn how she started her career at 46 with the mentoring of professors at Metro Community College and is now operating a full sculpture studio and showing her organic and flowing sculpture in galleries, public environments, and integrated into architectural forms.

Jerome Dubas teaches visual art at Grand Island Senior High School and has facilitated the creation of a student lead 21st Century educational experience called Underground Contemporary Arts Gallery. Jerome joins me with three of his students to talk about the journey of opening and running an art gallery in Grand Island.

Daniel Owen has many influences in his life providing a variety of subjects to draw and paint. Using primarily mixed media, Daniel has incorporated traditional materials with unique choices like automotive paint.

Daniel Leija paints many figurative subjects with an Art Nouveau style. His subjects are exotic figures posed with beautiful decorative borders. Listen in as Daniel shares his lifelong passion.

Sandy Meyer is a well known artist in Nebraska who lives and works in North Platte. She paints natural and everyday subjects with watercolor and mixed media.

Sandy Carpenter is a lifelong learner and taught art for 30 years. She now works as an artist in here studio producing pottery. She calls herself a colorist and she enjoys using color additives to her porcelain clay body.

Mike Brown is a painter of beautiful women represented in a moody colorful bold simplified form. He selects the subject based on the facial characteristics that contribute to his high contrast abstract style. Listen in as Mike shares the process of how he transitions his subjects using image software to manipulate and brainstorm color and mood.
