During the summer months it requires a lot of confidence to stand in the extremely tall grass on this forested floor. It's the darkness caused by what we assume that looms within the mystery. When we allow our fears to control our thoughts and actions a lot is long on the walk and way of the everyday life.

The word goodbye is never brought up. I don't see an end but rather a continuation. Our eyes are locked in on foreseeing and not being mindful of what we truly see. It's how we live in our realms of reality. Foreseeing where we'd like to be is greater than knowing how the experience is being played out.

In so many ways trees are endlessly giving to our human expectations. Yet we'll take down a tree for no real reason. Is there something here? The way we treat trees, is it also the way we treat other people?

The one thing people tend to forget is to properly take care of a tree. My neighbor doesn't prune his trees. He chops them down. Then goes out to buy another. We are guilty of treating people the same way. Throw out the old relationships and plant new people.

Research shows that trees and shrubs do not defuse sound. They absorb it. Sound moves through a collection of tree 13 times faster than other areas. I wonder then, when I hear music from the other side of this forest what am I sending to them? Rarely do I have music playing outside. But I have thoughts. A full display of my mental transistions.

Living in a forest feels like our living room is fully complete with natural plants and other living things.  Like our homes, the forest needs to be maintained and kept clean.  For the first time we've invited an outsider inside to prune. For what we are placing in boxes during our everyday life is weight not that of value.

Living in a forest has it's challenges while at the same time you're constantly wondering who else is feeling the energy a forest brings. As humans we tend to take a lot from beautiful lays of land. Not just stones and photographs but the energy that a forest brings. When will you begin your journey of giving back?

A huge spring storm is about to bust loose on this forest. It's swirling in circles like that of a hurricane but it's much too early for such a thing. The forest is leaning in to prepare for the worst. Human's tend to run indoors to watch the storm from a window or an app. I can't control what plays out inside this collection of trees. I am only a poet in a forest.

So many seasons of growth for this one family of deer. The innocence of the early moments before walking. Learning how to blend into the forest floor to not be so easily identified. Within minutes this new seed will deepen it's story while discovering the creek leading to the lake. None of this was here in 1997! Then I heard in my heart, "Plant trees. Many many trees." A shadowy gloominess lurks within the forest this new sun. Normally I've got too much in the ways of rays of light. The forest has felt moody as of late. As if to be searching for something. And I often wonder if it's appearance is actually a reflection of where we presently stand.

Blinded by the rising sun. My writing forced to stop. So often we use these interruptions as a way of getting angry or disappointed. When in reality it could be the universe teaching you how to walk and stop running.
