Are We Really Ready?

We look at Paul's letter to the church in Thessalonica, concentrating on the 5th chapter of 1st Thessalonians. Paul has some good word here..

Today we look at Psalms 56, 61 and 124. We look at the struggles and trials that the people of Israel had and how they worshipped. We find the importance of having God on our side.  

He was a young priest when the people of Judah were exiled in Babylon. We look at his fist vision and the call he received from God.

Caleb kept his faith in God while the others were full of doubt. When they complained , he encouraged. Lets strive to be more like Caleb.

We need to acknowledge God as Lord and Creator, praising Him for His blessings and trusting Him to guide our lives if we are truly humble.

We can tap into a power. There are gifts of the Holy Spirit  that we can use when we are worshipping or witnessing. Keep reading your Bible and praying. If the Holy Ghost prompts you, Go for it!

We look at Paul's letter to the people in Ephesus. In chapter 3, we find the mystery of grace, the power of the gospel and the blessings that come with it.

This story is from 2 Kings 18 and 19 and Isaiah 38. With God's awesome power, King Hezekiah did not have to fear the enemy.

Since God inspired all scripture, it is profitable (beneficial, useful). Let's read scripture daily and meditate on it.

Jesus says we need to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and all our strength and love our neighbors as ourselves. Think about it.

Today we have so many distractions as we search for peace but true peace is only available through Christ.

Let's get qualities like Jesus has, in our life and seek God instead of seeking happiness on our own.

Becoming a Christian can be a dramatic change. It can be a difficult transition. How do we spend our time?

Let's look at working and not getting lazy.

Let's think before we speak and use our tongues for good.

Darkness is the absence of light. Jesus is offering us light . Let's come out of the darkness and let our lights shine.

We will experience problems as Christians. Let's look at ways to face these trials.

We are tempted by our own desires. it's not easy but lets strive to keep a pure heart.

We look at forgiving people and confessing our sins to God so that we can get our prayers answered.

When we are discouraged or facing trials, perseverance gives us strength, growth and helps us become complete.

Are we allowing our surroundings to determine how our lives go?  Lets let God use us to make a difference.

When we face decisions, we need guidance and direction from God. I look at some scriptures to help us when we seek his help.

Here in the U.S. we are fortunate. Let's not let our blessings and fortune get in the way of the biggest investment we have.
