This week we started our series on the book of John. Matt Larson preached on the first three verses, where John is giving us a new understanding of creation. That in the beginning, Jesus was there, creating because He is God. John’s purpose for writing his gospel is so that those who read would believe that Jesus is the Christ and by believing would have abundant life now and eternal life.

This week, Matt Larson takes some time to talk about fasting. We dive into examples of fasting in the Bible, why we would fast as a church, and how we hope our church-wide fast will impact our community the week leading up to Easter.

This Sunday, Phil Zuch taught a second message on our value of multiplication. We are all called to imitate Jesus and to teach others to do the same. If we want to be imitators of Jesus, then we need to be with Jesus, learn his teachings, know that we can be like him, and carry out his good work and bring his kingdom reality to this earth.

This Sunday, Matt Larson preached a second message on our value of being dependent on the Holy Spirit. We have everything that we need to live out the life that God wants us to, He has given us his Spirit to lead us. We must be obedient to his promptings as He leads us into uncomfortable situations to bring his name and presence to this world.

This week, Matt Larson continues our series called This Is Anthem, by focusing on our pursuit of the Holy Spirit. We believe reliance on the Holy Spirit is necessary for the body of Christ to function properly so, we lead, worship and pray in full dependence on the Holy Spirit, even when it's easier to operate in our own strengths and abilities.

Sunday was our second week of Community in our This Is Anthem series. We heard some stories of how members of our church have been involved in community. Matt used Colossians 3 to talk about our posture while engaging in Christian community. To do this we must first be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger.
