Phileo is the chosen love of friendship — a loyal, affectionate, committed love that reflects the very heart of God. Jesus doesn’t just love us; He calls us friends. The gospel invites us to exchange friendship with the world for friendship with God and one another.

Agape love is the selfless, sacrificial, and unconditional love that God demonstrates toward humanity—it is both the cause and the effect of redemption. This divine love, exclusive to those who have received it through Christ, calls us to love as we have been loved, without compromising truth or seeking approval.

We are wired to want our lives to count for something! But we don’t have to cross seas to change the world. Godly churches, godly households, and godly lives are God’s method of creating a new world without brokenness and darkness.

This “Truth on a Postcard” draws from Paul’s letter to Philemon — a story of forgiveness, restoration, and the transforming power of the gospel. It reminds us that the gospel redefines relationships, calling us to release offense, extend grace, and embrace righteousness and holiness, even when it’s not what we naturally desire.
