Anseo.net - If I were the Minister for Education
How many times have you said to yourself, "If I were the Minister for Education…?" Well I do! Rather than grumble to myself, I decided to podcast my thoughts on ways I'd change the primary education system in Ireland. Every episode I'll take on a different theme, give some background and hopefully come to some conclusions by the end. simonmlewis.substack.com

Episode 075: A Confusing Meander Through Teacher Training 23.03.2022 31:29
After Ruairi Quinn amalgamated the Teacher Training Colleges into a few different universities, most of them kept their “characteristic spirit” (generally a Catholic one) so Mary Immaculate remains Catholic despite being part of UL. However, there was one complication. The Church of Ireland college and St. Pat’s were to be merged into DCU (which is a secular university.) Common sense would suggest...

Episode 069: Centre Broadband Hubs around Schools 14.01.2022 45:57

Live Poetry Reading: Children's Lives Matter Report 15.12.2021 48:13
The Children's Lives Matter Report was published a couple of weeks ago. It is the third report, so far, in the series, and is one of the only reports that truly delves into the world of schoolchildren in Ireland.
