The big question is: How do you acquire a spouse without being corrupted, attacked, or taken captive by a fake Christian? Don’t let your desire to get married, someone's mere profession of faith, and the fact that someone attends church deceive you into dropping your guard. In this sermon, Pastor Jack gives us three practical steps for acquiring a spouse in sanctification and honor.

The text before us has many good things about how congregations are to take care of those in gospel ministry. From Titus 3:12-13 I want to show you three ways you can support those in gospel ministry, so that they are encouraged, receive relief, and have all their needs met.

Church discipline is good, loving, not harsh, vindictive, or an opportunity for leaders in the church to take revenge on those they don’t like, or who don’t meet up to their personal expectations. As we shall see in our text this morning, the factious man has a profile, and we must never adjust that profile and seek revenge.

In Titus 3:9 we are warned to avoid three different categories of conversation as believers, because these kinds of conversation harm rather than help the church.

From Titus 3:8 I want to expose the primary directive of elders and two necessary consequences of that prime directive, so that we can understand the importance of gospel preaching and the fruit it produces in the lives of those who have been saved by it.

We are told that God saves us because of His kindness, love, and mercy for mankind, moved Him to lavishly pour out the Holy Spirit upon us, causing us to be washed, regenerated, renewed, through the person and work of Jesus Christ. But why? Why do this? Our text this morning gives us one of the reasons why God saves sinners.

In our text for this morning we will see how the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit work together in saving us, again proving that salvation is a work of God, not a work of man.

It is the miraculous spiritual transformation that occurs when we believe in Jesus Christ for salvation that is our focus for this morning. I want to point out two more steps in how God saves us, so we can be encouraged, evaluate if we know the Lord and praise God for His work in our lives.

Titus 3:4-7 is one of the greatest texts on salvation found anywhere in the Bible. It is in the middle of a small book that constantly exhorts us to obey, to do good works, and to be zealous for good deeds. I want to give you three perspectives on the mercy of God so that you can understand what God’s mercy is, see what the Bible says about mercy, and how mercy applies to your life.

From Titus 3:5 I want to consider three different points that will give us assurance that salvation is not of works, that we can’t lose our salvation, and that God, by His grace, not only saves us, but keeps us saved to the end.
